This is a continuing story. Find previous instalments here.
“Dude, you got anger issues.”
Herald glared at Charity.
“You didn’t have the tornado in ….”
“Toronadi!”
Charity drew her lockpicks to work the treasure chamber doors, hiding a mischievous smile.
“Your turn.”
Bow-legged, Herald, marched out of a knee-high pile of bones and gave the doors a hefty push.
“ABOMINATION!”
“Huh?” the pale man inside replied, raising his shackled hands to emphasise his harmlessness.
“Pale. Fangs. GHOUL!” Herald shouted.
“Smooth dark hair. Vampire.”
“Dhampir,” the handsome prisoner replied, “half-breed, capable of love and compassion.”
Charity gulped, yearningly.
“Can I keep him?”
“What?!”
“As my new ghoulfriend?”
