2022 WRITING PROMPT JOURNEY
Fiction Writing Prompts — Week Twenty-Nine
Writing prompts for July 16th to 22nd
Welcome to Week Twenty-Nine of our 2022 Writing Prompt Journey!
I can’t wait to see your responses to this week’s three new fiction prompts! Check out the extra writing challenge this week as well, and see if it helps inspire your imagination in interesting new directions…
Writing Challenge:
Start and end your story with your main character traveling in two different modes of transportation.
The simple rules for this Journey:
1. Pick a prompt (or two or three!) every week or as often as you have time, and get writing.
2. Post on your own page or in any publication (including this one!), and share a link in your post back to the original Prompt post.
3. Share a link to your post in the comments of the weekly Prompt post (or tag me in your post so I can find your work and share it with others on the Journey).
4. Finally, tag your post with “Writing Prompt Journey”.
Prompt 1
Your GPS keeps telling you to turn left when you’re halfway to your job, but the road sign to the left says no exit. One day you decide to follow the GPS anyway.
Prompt 2
The barista’s secret.
Prompt 3
Your new ghoulfriend.
Remember to check out the Non-Fiction and Poetry Prompts for Week Twenty-Nine which will be going up as well very shortly. You can also go back to see the previous weeks’ prompts here.
And please don’t forget to post links to your prompted fiction in the comments, and link back to this post in your writing so more people can join the journey. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Chelsea Marie is a writer by night and graphic designer by day. She is a West-Coast Canadian with a bad case of wanderlust and a dream to travel the world with her severely airplane-phobic partner. Why do things the easy way when a complicated route makes a much more interesting story? She’s on Instagram @c.the.storyteller writing and posting poetry in her spare time.
Before you go…
If you enjoy my work, why not join Medium as a paying member? This allows you unlimited access to stories (not just 3 free stories per month). Tap this link or the image below. It helps me out since I will receive a small portion of your membership fees, but it won’t cost you any extra (bonus!).
This Writing Prompt Journey is hosted in The Storyteller’s Vault. If you would like to receive weekly links to these Writing Prompts sent to your email, please feel free to sign up and receive newsletter updates.
