Can you Count Your Blessings? Absolutely.
It depends on what you are counting.
It is not about counting the lucky streaks that we have.
It is not about counting the bequest of luck from the Higher Entities above.
It is about what we have, and what we take for granted.

We are incredibly fortunate to be living at the age of Human development where we are at the best that humans can be. I am thankful for many things that has happened into my life, some are deliberate and some came along. The important thing I learnt to recognise is I am in a position to realise opportunities.
I am truly blessed.
And in a way, things doesn’t have to be complicated.
We seem to be taking too many things for granted and to spend our time complaining about them.
Education is one. Many people in the Developed World believe — rightly or wrongly — that the current public education system is broken. It produces hordes of employees and a select few who would come on top as Professors.
As they say, we are not producing enough entrepreneurs.
And while that might be true, the current system produces professionals into the employment market and for those who do not want to be entrepreneurs. For those who are ambitious enough, the School of Hard Knocks await 24/7.
My point is simple. Let’s stop whining and just forge ahead.
I am also grateful to be living in the Information Age where human connectivity and information arbitrage occurs freely and instantaneously. Probably memory work will go out of vogue as more and more gigabytes of information become freely available. And this is the age where collecting name-cards is no longer a Life experience journey requiring to meet more and more people.
These days we can search for profiles online or via social media first, and then make meaningful connection.
Yet we hear people talking about the difficulty to add more followers into their social media accounts as the race is on to be an influencer.
Well. Different people, different perspectives.
I am also grateful to be one of those able to run our own businesses to earn our living, as well as the ability to jump from one corporate position to another, where each jump leads to a higher altitude and fatter remuneration package.
I do not have to experience deep poverty living under USD $2.00 per day.
That said, I think it is a very tough thing to do when we have to worry about money and family survival daily.
For that, I count my blessings.
Is this part of the “Lucky Sperm Club” that many underprivileged would lament about?
I think so.
I count my blessings for that as well.
Also, the country that I am born into and staying in might not have the best political system and economic growth potential. It is also one of the highest hit countries in terms of COVID-19 infection rates at the beginning of 2020.
That said, I do not have to worry about sanitation issues and water cleanliness issues. The sewage system works whenever I push the flush button and the I can drink directly from the water tap. It frees me from worrying about the basic survival necessities and focus on professional developments instead.
I am fortunate.
And as I said, I count my blessings.
I count my blessings the way things aren’t taken for granted.
I know there are only 4 blessings here, but one thing leads to another.
Where blessings may refer to a piece of mind — I think I have a peace of mind today.
I am indeed, blessed.
