Camellia before Storms Eunice and Franklin Paid a Visit

The miniature daffodils don’t care, though

I took this photo before Storm Eunice came blustering along. I think I’ll just keep the photo and not go back to see how this shrub has fared, especially now that we have Storm Franklin, too.

Camellias are beautiful, but it doesn’t take much to bruise their petals into a brown mess.

The miniature daffodils weren’t at all worried, even though they nearly got crushed by next door’s fence panel. Luckily, the panel was removed from where it was flapping around in the storm, and the daffodils have survived as if they were never in any danger at all!

I was afraid for my extremely tall eucalyptus tree out the front, but it proved to still be whippy enough to go with the flow and it survived, despite being about twenty feet tall.

And then suddenly the wind died down, the skies cleared, and Ultramarine Blue paraded across the sky.

Looking over to the neighbours with their palm-type trees it looked almost as if we could be on holiday!

We were a bit spooked by it all — the sound of the wind in the city is a bit unfriendly, but we got away unscathed except for the roof flying off my shed. Others had it much worse and lost power, gained injury and some died. Awful.

Here’s PupperJack trying to be philosophical about getting no walks while the storms were on.

However, he is keen to tell everyone that although 22nd February is officially National Walking The Dog Day, he reckons dog-walking day should be every day!
