Summary

The website content is a personal catalogue of the author's poetry, showcasing a collection of 35 poems published on Medium, each with its own title, publication date, and brief description.

Abstract

The author has compiled a comprehensive list of their poetic works, all of which have been shared on the Medium platform. This collection, titled "Brief Contemplations," includes 35 poems written between May 4 and July 24. Each poem is presented with a unique title, a publication date, and a short descriptor that offers a glimpse into the theme or essence of the piece. The author expresses a desire for better organizational tools on Medium to categorize their work but has taken the initiative to create this index for personal order and to aid readers in navigating their poetry. The poems cover a wide range of subjects and styles, from micro poems and haikus to abecedarians and longer narrative pieces.

Opinions

  • The author values organization and has created this catalogue primarily for personal order rather than solely for the convenience of their readers.
  • There is a hint of self-deprecating humor in the author's admission of feeling uncharacteristically unashamed about the self-promotional nature of the catalogue.
  • The author is somewhat critical of Medium's current profile structure, suggesting that the ability to sort work into categories would be beneficial.
  • Despite the lack of categorization tools on Medium, the author has embraced the challenge and taken pride in

Brief Contemplations

All my poems in one place

The time has come to collate all my poetry in one place. Having published my twenty-fifth poem, I decided it might be useful to start a catalogue in order to find them more easily in future.

Usually such an arrogant endeavour would make me blush redder than the hideous scarlet t-shirt stuffed at the back of my wardrobe that I’ve never worn. But on this occasion I feel scarcely a flicker of embarrassment.

That’s because I like organisation. I’m not creating this index to help my adoring fans navigate my poems more easily — that’s a mere side effect. I want to impose some order on my Medium profile.

I think it’s a shame there isn't a way to sort our work. Even being able to choose three categories would make our profiles less messy. We could differentiate the poems from the stories from the essays from the rants from the clickbait written at 3am…

Anyway, here is the complete collection of my Medium poetry. Enjoy! Or don’t. The choice is yours…
