Blog Post Ideas: How To Generate Hundreds Of Blog Post Publishing Ideas With These 5 Ways

How You can actually generate blog posts ideas for over a month just by using these 5 ways.

Blogging is easy, right? Yeah.

But, when I was blogging there was one thing that is always a problem for me — Getting blog post ideas. I solved this problem by scrolling a lot of sites and consuming a lot of information, so I thought, why not share this same information with my fellow bloggers and Medium writers. As a Medium writer myself, this is the problem I faced when I started writing about articles related to Medium that Medium members might search for. And, to overcome this problem I have developed a methodology to get such ideas.

Writing isn’t hard enough if you have drafts that you are interested to write about. I discovered this thing very recently and now I have over 30 drafts in my draft section of the blog. This is because when I wanted to write, there was nothing to write about. Now, using 5 methods that I use to generate hundreds of blog post ideas every time, this could actually have an impact on your productivity and your publishing frequency.

This problem isn’t common for just bloggers but the same problem exists in podcasting and the YouTube community. These ideas are valid for creators of every type.

Why you need more ideas?

This is a very basic question. Why do you need to publish more content? The answer to this question is — To influence your target audience. If you are a blogger who writes about dating then your target audience is those young folks who are searching for ways related to dating. If you write a 4,000 words post with great SEO then you might get ranked for a single keyword and receive a specific range of traffic but to make your impact more powerful you need to publish more.

Find hundreds of blog post ideas through Quora

Quora is a question and answer based website where people ask a question, answer questions, read answers of other writers, and also can interact with their answers by Upvoting, commenting, and sharing those answers.

Quora has over 300 Million users and with over 400 million unique page views per month with more than 70% of the traffic is coming from the search engines.

Quora has a Topic section where if you visit it then see all the related questions and answers to that topic. If you search the topic “OLED” you can find hundreds of blog posts ideas about this topic. Let me show you an example of this.

If you scroll down you will find hundreds of such questions. Any blogger or YouTuber with little experience in the SEO can easily find a keyword in the Question. The keyword “How do I buy a Netflix subscription?” has a keyword “Buy a Netflix subscription”

How you can find questions in a topic that’s getting more search traffic? This is the question every blogger should ask. This question will differentiate you from other hard-working bloggers and vloggers.

The process to find a question in a topic that is getting more search traffic on Quora is very simple;

• Find the topic of your interest by searching it on Quora. In our case, the topic is “OLED Display”
• Go to the “Most Viewed Writers” section on that topic.
• You will see a list of writers with a number of views in the last 30 days.
• Click on the writer's number of answers.
• On the Right Side of the profile, you will find two sections — Most recent and All-time views. Click on All-time views.
• Now, you can actually find the blog post ideas that will drive more traffic and will make you more money. The keyword I find from one answer in this topic is “Are OLED Tvs Worth it” You can search it on Google and you will find a Quora link in the top 10 search results.

Generate ideas through Medium

Medium is also a site where the user generates content, this site is more similar to Quora but you are here actually generate your own question and write answers related to that question. People, Medium members can read your content and so, you also make some cents.

Medium has a feature called “Publications” a publication is like Facebook open groups but on weed.

On my YouTube channel, I make videos related to marketing and blogging so, the best platform is “Better Marketing” and “The Startup”

Or,

The second way to get ideas for blog posts is by searching your niche through the Medium search bar. Search any term related to your niche and you will have hundreds of blog post ideas to write about. In most of the cases, I find Medium the platform that gives me quality content marketing ideas that generate hundreds of organic traffic.

Generate Content ideas through Google Search Autocomplete and Suggestions

There are basically three ways to get content ideas by searching a keyword on Google. Google uses machine learning to predict the keyword-based on the words you are searching for.

• The first way to use Google as a blog post ideas generator tool is to type searching and finding ideas from the Google Autocomplete. If you are searching for a keyword like “How to be a comedian …” and you will find a couple of ideas for writing about this great and noble niche. Here is the picture of how this system works.

• The second way to generate blog post ideas is to look at the end of the search results. Google display over 12 search results for a keyword you are searching for. You have to write a unique post related to every keyword you found. You can get a rough idea from the picture given below.

• The third way to generate blog post content ideas for your next blog post is to click on any search result Google automatically displays six related keywords, and then find content ideas from those keywords. In competitive niches, bloggers often targeted keywords that have low search volume because it is highly intent-based traffic. You can find a better explanation from the picture.

Using Keyword research tools like SEMRush or AHREF

AHREF and SEMrush are both keyword searching tools. These tools also give you the likeability of getting ranked on search engines, the average per month searches, and the related keywords you should target. These tools are not free but free to some extent for a limited number of keyword searches.

Here how you could use these tools;

1. Go to any of these keyword searching tools. I would prefer SEMrush because it gives you limited number of free searches but if you want to use AHREF then you have to pay $7 for a 7-day trial. We will use SEMrush here.
2. Make an account on SEMrush and search the keyword of your choice. In my case, it is “OLED Display”
3. Scroll down and you will find a list of related keywords with a number of searches per month and the keyword difficulty.
4. You have a dozen ideas to write about this month just by targeting a single keyword.

Using YouTube to Generate ideas

How you can actually use YouTube to generate blog post ideas? The Step-by-step process is;

1. Search the main keyword of your blog. The main keyword is like “Health”, “Startups”, or any other keyword of your choice.
2. Then, go to filter and click on “Channels”
3. YouTube will show you hundreds of channels that upload videos related to the niche of your target.
4. You have more ideas in your mind now compared to the time you were searching for that specific keyword.
5. Boom, plan your article.

I personally use a variation of these methods to generate blog post ideas and also use it for writing unique articles on my Medium handle.
