Are You Suffering From Writing Fatigue? Do These Instead.
I get it. We aren’t always in the mood to write

There are days where we don’t feel like doing anything. Writing included. Even if you are the top writer or author of multiple New York Times bestsellers, we are victims of our own emotions. That is simply the case. I see this as a signal from the body and mind that it is time to pull back slightly.
I typically heed their advice because pushing through when I don’t feel good about it or I will have to pay the price down the line.
There is a difference between accomplishing little versus not getting anything done.
When it comes to writing, I adopt the same approach. Fortunately, there are so many more light-weight activities that can be done outside of writing which allows us to grow our digital footprint. These are my go-to activities when I am sick and tired of writing.
I Exit My Writer’s Role To Become A Reader.
We get our ideas and fresh perspectives for writing through reading. Where is the best source of inspiration for writing on Medium? The answer is in the question.
There are reasons why some hashtags and stories have a long tail when it comes to readership. As a matter of convenience, they tend to appear on our feed. I would read these stories to evaluate the value that is provided to the readers.
Often, I learned a lot too. It helps that ideas can be curated from these pieces for my future writing.
From Reader to Learner …
I love to read. It calms me. And I have a funny habit. I like to highlight.
I do that for various reasons. Ultimately, I want to send my compliments to the author of the story that I am impressed by the ideas that are presented within the highlight, or it is well expressed. Many times, it was about being impressed.
When it comes to this journey of writing, learning the craft in itself has no end in sight. I anchor what I read through highlighting and scribbling into my journal, often thinking about how to express myself better.
Some days are better for thinking.
… From Learner to Audience.
I like to give my appreciation to the writer for nourishing my mind.
I often wonder why we are always that ready to bash others and so hesitant to give praise. There are so many brilliant pieces in this platform that I am thankful for my personal learning experience.
So, I give my thanks by distributing claps. And I max it out. 50 it shall be. I applaud every ounce of effort that writers take to write because I know it is tough, especially for those who have full-time work and writes daily. I have full respect for all.
Of course, as time permits, I would comment too.
In Brief.
There are many things we can do here. When we are tired of writing, take a break. That is because we come back faster. If we fight it and continue to write, we will go past the point of no return.
That is detrimental to our personal development.
Instead, do light-weight and enjoyable activities. After all, we do want others to read our masterpieces. We should also do the same. The best part? We get to learn from them and level-up.
Why not?
Happy reading.
Cheers for Others.
