Ants the size of wiener dogs!

Categories: 2,4,5,9

I had this recurring dream around when I was 12 and 13 years old in SLC, Utah. It was some time in a post apocalyptic future, most people were dead and I lived my life scavenging in the ruins of the city for food and so forth, the only main problem was there were millions of ants around the size of wiener dogs and they often chased after and killed us surviving humans. Luckily there were a number of pocket dimensional portals around the outskirts of the city, up in the hills from where you could look down, and what you could do is when being chased by the ants you could go get into one of these pocket dimensions, and wait there for the ants to leave, because the ants could not see you in there as long as you got in there well enough ahead of them they would not know you were in there and thus they would just swarm by.

I have to say wiener dog ants are somewhat more terrifying than the giant ones from the 1950s movies because the special effects of the dream allowed for millions of them to swarm over everything in their path.

Not so Scary!

Dream would essentially go on with me spending weeks being chased around, and then running to pocket dimension in one major chase and then waking up.

But the last few dreams differed in that when I got to the pocket dimension the ants were so close behind me they knew I was in the pocket dimension so they just crawled around the outside of the area I was in and I was stuck in it looking out at the millions of ants that had crawled around my safe area and were now waiting for me to exit. I was essentially dead, the fact of my death had just not caught up with my actual physical form yet.

I had that final version of the dream a couple times and then I didn’t have it any more.
