Random Word Drabble Challenge Day 27 Word Is Electric

The cable wasn’t working, and the wife was driving him crazy.

His wife complained constantly about missing General Hospital — always grumbling about missing Luke and Laura.

Normally, after lunch, she’d quietly park her butt on the couch and watch.

He understood her anguish — they needed a car to visit their nearest neighbor.

He’d called the cable company every day for two weeks, but no one came.

He asked around, and the electric cables were buried underground these days.

He grabbed the ladder to fix it himself, but as his body pulsed and shuddered, he thought, “They said it wasn’t electric.”

A drabble is exactly 100 words, no more, no less. In this case, the random word to build the story around is “electric.”

Thanks to @nancywrites and Fiction Shorts for the daily challenge.

Here are three other drabbles for your enjoyment.
