Angela Rayner. Gross, misconduct.

Nice shoes, shame about the misogyny. Danny Lawson/PA Images via Getty Images

A few days ago a story based on no evidence whatsoever (what do you expect from a Daily Wind Up?) claimed Angela Rayner, Deputy Leader of the United Kingdom Labour Party, inappropriately distracted Boris Johnson, The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Mr Johnson is a man so posh that he threatened to unleash “the terrors of the earth” on his MPs who made the accusations, added that he thought it were “the most appalling load of sexist, misogynist tripe.”

Yesterday, in homage to how serious the men in his party takes this sort of thing, a female minister said she saw a male MP watching porn in the House of Commons. If I were caught watching porn at work I would face immediate dismissal because my employers would quite rightly consider it literally putting the ‘gross’ into ‘gross misconduct.’

Anyway, even tho’ the Angela Rayner article were met with wide condemnation, the attack on Ms Rayner has also been met with some unsympathetic responses from Tin Men and Tin Women (can you still make Wizard of Oz references?). These responses have taken two forms (please imagine people frothing at the mouth):

  1. Variations of “She originally laughed it off.”
  2. Variations of “She called Tories ‘scum.’”

Conclusion 1. Women cannot change their mind.

Conclusion 2. She asked for it.

Hopefully one-day feminism will catch on and we will see an end to all this non-sense innit.
