Hello, Friends!

If you’re new to my writing, welcome! If you’re a returning friend, thank you for your support and encouragement! Last year was pretty exciting, but 2024 is going to be even better!

Keep reading to find out why…

Introduction

Greetings! I’m Stephania Thompson, an award winning author, poet, and freelance writer. My novel, WOVEN, (Charm City Threads Book One) a new adult romantic suspense set in Baltimore (Orange Blossom Publishing), debuted in June 2022. It earned a five star Readers’ Favorite rating and was selected for a Bookfest Award several months after publishing.

My poetry has received high acclaim, appearing in a variety of print and online journals and anthologies. Additionally, I am a contributing writer for several Medium publications and industry blogs.

Recently, I launched a Medium Publication of my own! Check out Soul Verse for poetry, fiction, and general short form health and well-being content.

Why do I write?

Writing has always been my passion.

For me, words are a way of processing change and exploring the world…even if it’s just inside my head! Through writing, I hope to encourage and inspire others to be more intentional in their relationships and creative endeavors.

It is my greatest joy to see words come alive and connect us all through our shared humanity.

What can you expect from my poetry, fiction, and other content?

My writing explores complex questions and topics like love and relationships, faith and belonging, identity and purpose, and even death and the ways we are all connected.

I’ve always been curious about relationships, even as a child. I love people watching, picking apart social situations, and analyzing emotion. The nuances of human interaction fascinate me–the laws of attraction, how we relate to one another, the people we’re inexplicably drawn to, and the paths we seem compelled to take.

This passion for the human experience is woven into all my poetry and prose, hence the name of my debut novel. WOVEN is a complicated story of love, loss, and the ties that bind. It’s a romantic suspense, but the deep dive into David, Josh, and Kate’s relationship touches on themes with universal appeal. I do hope you’ll check it out and let me know what you think!

And I hope you’ll find, not only Woven, but my writing as a whole, to be meaningful and thought provoking.

Most of all?

I hope you will be inspired to reflect on your own life and to live each day with passion and purpose.

Who am I, really?

Well, I’m a reader, first and foremost. And, like many authors, I didn’t consider writing a career–it was just a hobby. Accounting initially captured my interest.

After high school I earned a bachelor of arts from the University of Maryland, then went on to get my CPA license and work in both the public and private sectors before finally pursuing my real passion–writing.

One good thing did come out of my accounting tenure, though–I met my very own knight in shining armor!

Both Maryland natives, he and I are living the dream in a crumbly suburban castle with our four valiant offspring, a brave aussiedoodle, and one not-so-fire-breathing dragon.

When not writing, working, or wrangling kids and pets, you can find me roaming the countryside with the aforementioned doodle or escaping in a book at my favorite café, shaken espresso in hand.

My reading style is eclectic, but I’m a total sucker for quirky romance. I’m addicted to audiobooks, obsessed with true crime, and find myself hopelessly drawn to flawed characters, raw honesty, and life’s cringiest moments.

Okay, enough about me, what’s so exciting about 2024?

I’m thrilled to announce TANGLED, the stand alone second book in my Charm City Thread’s Series, will be coming out this year. I cannot wait to share this next installment in Josh, Kate, and David’s journey. More on release dates and launch activities to come, but for now…if you haven’t had a chance to read WOVEN, now’s the time!

And if you connect with the story, I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Your reviews mean the world to me and help others discover my writing, so please consider leaving a brief review on Amazon or Goodreads. Your support is truly appreciated.

Additionally, my second poetry chapbook, UNVEILING LOVE, will debut on February 1st…just in time for Valentines Day! If you’d like an advance copy in exchange for an honest review, I would be honored to send you an ebook.

And there you have it, friends. Stay tuned for more exciting announcements as well as poetry and writing guaranteed to inspire creativity and nourish your soul. Give me a follow, check back often, and leave a comment to say hello!

Hugs,

Steph
