Motherhood’s Journey

In this, the month of Love, take a moment to celebrate Motherhood. A lifelong journey of labor, love, and letting go 🖤

“What’s it like to be a mother?” Higher calling, there’s no other.

Lifelong journey to discover, it’s a gift to birth another.

Pledge your soul to this new lover. Watch her grow, heart all aflutter.

Teach her love, inspire wonder, let her play, your house a clutter.

Turn away, there’s nothing tougher. Leave the nest, sweet pain you’ll suffer.

If she falls, you long to hover. First heartbreak, her pain you’ll cover.

Wedding day, no prouder of her. New offspring her womb to usher. Grandbabies you gladly smother, keep your girl from going under.

Your wisdom, she’ll rediscover. Love you like she does no other.

Hold you close when you slip under. Dying breath last thought to utter,

‘’Twas my joy to be your mother.”
