In the last few days, we received many inquiries from our subscribers informing us that their accounts were suspended for unknown reasons. As we don’t have time to respond to those messages we wanted to create this short message to inform our readers.
Initially, we thought it was a spam filter issue and advised those writers to contact the support team at Medium to get them fixed.
However, one of our writers found a message from Buster Benson, a director on Medium.com, explaining the situation in a story comment.
We wanted to link the screen capture for your information, as the message is important for impacted members to understand.
His message communicates that the platform is implementing new measures to combat spam and fraud. The message reassures users that legitimate accounts are not intended for permanent suspension.
As you may know, some spam accounts abuse and misuse Medium constantly and even cause scams, as we documented in a previous bulletin.
Our chief editor Dr Mehmet Yildiz and other editors also wrote several stories about spam and scam issues to inform our writers and readers.
Dr Yildiz's account was duplicated, but he informed us that the support team had removed the fake account in a timely manner.

Conclusions
Due to the rise in fraudulent activity, some accounts may have been affected, but Medium is making efforts to rectify the situation.
Buster’s message explains that the platform actively reviews appeals from users who believe their accounts were incorrectly flagged.
While the reasons for suspension may not always be fully disclosed due to privacy concerns, the platform aims to address issues promptly and fairly. Users are encouraged to reach out with details about their accounts for review and potential restoration.
