Imagine this:

You’re working extra shift to earn few extra bucks or managing house and career or various reports that you have to make because boss gave the deadline for today or you spent your entire days in back to back zoom meetings and you are deadly tired or late night you remember to do laundry because it’s piling up since last one month.

After every day's life hustle there is a very little time left to do anything else. At this time, you just want sit, chill with a beer or two and watch re runs of The Office or Friends. Because it’s fun.

And cycle continues. There is no way out, there is no tomorrow. Then how are you going to take time for your self improvements.

Are you Ready? Let’s get started.

#1: Limit time to browse Social Media Platforms

Don’t let social media influence you to believe in something that is not real.

The average person browses social media 2 to 3 hours a day. That’s probably including you and I. You might say you only check social media while you’re waiting on other stuff. But that’s not how the human brain works.

Quitting social media is the single most powerful thing you can do to create free time in your schedule.

Watch this Netflix documentary, it’s an eye opener for me.

Do this:

  • Delete social media apps from phone for next 30 days.
  • If you can’t do this, mute all the notification at least for next 30 days. It will hard initially but you will get so much free time in your hand also your anxiety will Thank you later.
  • Stop Consuming news from Facebook and Instagram. Define one or two news outlet you trust and follow them.

#2: Remove the TV from Bedroom.

That’s the one main reason we are stuck with “one more episode” cycle.

No one is saying you can’t watch any TV. Use your computer or phone to watch TV when you want. I watch Netflix on my laptop whenever I want.

But because there’s no TV in my living room drawing my attention, I only watch to a few times a month. Much healthier and more satisfying.

Do this:

  • Use bedroom or your bed only for sleeping. If you have less space, divide your room into smaller compartment. I have done that. I use one corner of my bedroom as a office set up and one corner as my bedroom.
  • Unsubscribe from different OTT platforms that you don’t use frequently. It can help you save some $$.
  • Follow no TV for a week or a month to see how you feel after that.
  • With free time, spend time exercising, reading, learning new skill, connect with friend and family on deeper level.

#3: Accept that you own too much materialistic things. Why not try some minimalism.

We humans have a funny psychological quirk. Having stuff is good, but getting stuff is great.

  • Too much stuff means having to buy more housing and storage for the stuff.
  • More to organized and arrange
  • Too much stuff means having to pay to move the stuff.
  • Too much stuff means having to catalog, understand, and sort the stuff.

It doesn't matter how many fancy shoes you have, or how many branded jackets, dresses you have. No one is going to judge you based on your closet size.

Do this:

  • Donate your clothes that you haven’t wore in last one-two years
  • Take inspiration from Marie Kondo and declutter your living space and remove things that doesn’t bring any joy to you.

Everything in life flows smoothly once you get the rocks and boulders out of your way.

#4: Sleep for a day if you are buying anything online that cost more than $100.

  • If you are online shopper like me and buying anything more than $100, sleep on it for a day and you will realize you don’t need that thing after all.
  • Track your expenditure for a couple of months to see where you spend your monthly income. If you are online shopper like me and buying anything more than $100, sleep on it for a day and you will realize you don’t need that thing after all.
  • Track your expenditure for a couple of months to see where you spend your monthly income.

Probably you won’t need them next day.

#5: Let Virtual Financial system assist you with your saving goals, retirement plans to keep track of your spending and investments.

You’re terrible at managing your money. It’s not your fault. It’s because humans are not computers.

Money management isn’t that difficult with the rob advisor, automated apps available to sort your your spending, investments also make recommendations based on your money habits.

Pick one of these things and do it for 30 days.

Push past the first few days of intense discomfort no matter how hard they are.

With time I learn to create space and calm in my life where none was to be found. Thanks to these one-time changes, I’ve been able to heal my mental health in a way many people only dream of. I

If these changes helped me become a productive and functional member of society, they can probably make you a damn superhero.

Is it going to cost any money to you? Hell No.
