I joined the Medium Partner program at the beginning of this year. It has been one and a half years that I am on this platform and in these years I have learned a lot of great lessons; to make more money and how to promote your stories. Most writers, who don’t have enough following on Medium are actually finding it very hard to promote your stories for that reason I have shared 19 ways to get more views on your Medium stories. If you think only publishing on Medium is enough for making money on Medium then you’re wrong. Publishing is just 20% of your Work, the rest 80% of the work is to promote your Medium articles and finding the audience.
Medium is just 8 years old. Other big social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube which is more than 15 years old platform. - Publishing on different publications can help you to make more money as your stories are recommended on the “More from Medium” section.
- Most popular writers I am following doing the same thing right now. They target a single publication for a specific amount of time and then leave it for some, like a month or two and then come again to the same publication to gather more viewers.
- If you’re a new writer, try to target smaller publications or publications that accept every kind & type of story.
Secret#2: Update your followers about Your Medium related things like Views/Followers and Earnings
Share your strategies on Medium grow, how you get more views or followers, and how much money you are making is a good factor and increase your followers and the interest of your followers. I have updated my earning even when I was making $0.7 in a single day and also when I made over $100 a month on Medium.
When I first bought a laptop through my Medium earnings, I write about my experience as a Medium writer, for most of your followers it is a motivation to work hard and publish more often on Medium. Make friends on Medium, interact with your followers, and people who leave response onto your stories. Join Medium publications as a writer. Be part of the system. A high engaging article can lead you to get more viewers because the algorithm promotes your answer more under the tab “Based on your reading history” tag.
Medium Secret #4: Make Your Own Publication And Grow your earnings
There are many benefits of starting your own publication, but for making more money on Medium, this is the single most powerful secret. When a story published in a publication based on a single niche. Medium display the three stories at the end of your articles published by you. Through this method, you can convert a single view into Multiple reads. Content consumption has a great influence over your readers, the more someone consumes your content, the more the chances that she became your fan.
The problem with creating your own publication is that you might not get more views at the beginning and this single thing demotivates more writers on Medium and they either stop writing on this platform or publish stories in other smaller publications. I am not saying that you should publish 100% of your stories on your own Publication but try to at least publish 60% of your great work in your own publication.
