Everywhere I look, there is so much advice, guides, and rules on how to live a happier and good life.

Most of the time, I feel like we’re overcomplicating things. Life is not a linear path.

It’s a journey with ups and downs, good days and bad days.

But with so many self-help guides and trendy books, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that your life is bad if you’re not making six figures, vacationing in Hawaii, or driving a fancy car.

It’s so easy to promote toxic positivity and avoid negative emotions.

We want to appear happy and perfect so that the world will admire us.

All the social media posts make you believe in it, making you think that your life is against you and that you must fight hard to get through it.

In truth, the rules of life are simple. We are the ones who complicate them.

Here are five silent qualities that will help you navigate your life effortlessly.

#1 Emotions are transient

There are always going to be good days and bad days.

There are days when the entire world seems to be against me, and nothing is working out.

It feels like I am stuck in a hamster wheel.

And there are days when I am happy, and everything I do brings joy.

None of them are inherently good or bad.

They are all necessary for you to realize what matters most in your life. Instead of fighting against them, sit with them, embrace them, and navigate through them as they come and go.

So welcome them as they come, sit with them, and watch as they eventually fade away.

Never make a permanent decision based on a temporary storm. No matter how raging the billows are today, remind yourself, this too shall pass.

#2 Being a sensitive person is your strength, use it

I am an extra sensitive person (and I am okay with it), and I cry while watching an emotional scene in a movie or become emotional when someone shares something sad.

It led me to believe that showing my sensitivity is a weakness.

But you know what? It’s actually my strength because it makes me a better human being.

It allows me to connect with other people beyond the surface, be a compassionate listener, and appreciate the little things that most people take for granted.

It’s my superpower, and I will never apologize for it.

Feelings are cool.

It’s a gift to experience the world on such a rich level.

Never apologize for being sensitive or emotional. Let this be a sign that you’ve got a big heart and aren’t afraid to let others see it. Showing your emotions is a sign of strength.

#3 Fear makes your prepare your worst

When I started writing, I didn’t know anything about the writing world.

I was fearful, wondering if I had what it takes.

Tapping into my fear allowed me to learn about the writing craft, develop routines, and kept me going to become better every day.

And now, it’s been two years and I am still here, writing.

When you embark on a new path in life, uncertainty comes as part of the package.

The worst-case scenario always lingers. Instead of running away from it, accept it and do your best.

Most of the time, the worst exists only in our heads, and reality turns out to be much better.

Being fearful shows that you care, and it pushes you to try new things and do something extraordinary.

So, the next time you face fear, try to take a step forward and see what happens.

Don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

― Ralph Waldo Emerson

#4 Let love guide you

Love is powerful emotions to drive many things you do in life.

Sometimes love leads your life to be exaclty it meant to be.

Being in love means doing things that brings happiness, make you content, lean on things (or people) who genuiely care about you.

Spend time doing something that is pure joy. It could be a simple habit, creating art, going on a trip, or just jourling about your day.

Learn, experiment, repeat.

Embrace the life as it is.
