4 Simple Skills You Can Apply To Change Your Life For The Better
These skills are free to accomplish.
I learned the most valuable skills in life than I ever did in my entire experience in school. The skills I learned in life can’t defeat what I learned in school.
You learn the most valuable skills in life and not in school.
“Self-education is, I firmly believe, the only kind of education there is.” — Isaac Asimov.
“Schools teach our children what to think when they should be teaching them how to think.” — Unknown.
There should be more to teaching than learning the basic, shallow skills such as math. There is no problem with it. The problem is school these days lack deep-topics and personal development subjects. Maybe because it’s life’s job to teach us those things but these subjects can help kids to survive in the real world after graduating. They are our future and we rely on them to create a better future.
The list of skills you’re about to learn is free.
1. Social Communication
“Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence.”– Vince Lombardi
You’re probably shy by nature and need the courage to speak up your mind.
It’s completely fine if you aren’t a master of social skills. Some people are easily social without thinking about it. They are called extroverts.
Did you know some people used to be shy before they became a public speaker? They decided to go against their fear and pushed themselves in uncomfortable situations such as making a speech.
“Life is not happening to you, but responding to you.” — Rhonda Byrne.
If you want friends and the love of your life to exist in your current reality, you must learn social skills as it has an important role in your life. You can’t expect people to come to you. Be the bigger person and reach out to people. That way you can find out if some people are good for you or bad for you.
You can’t wish for people to come to you. The right people will appear in your life and you must take action to talk to them. It’s scary at first and you feel the adrenaline all over your body, but you’ll learn so much from pushing yourself to talk to people. The right people may be as shy as you and want to talk to you but who’s gonna take the first step?
“It’s better to have tried and failed than never tried, you can rest easy knowing you gave it a go.” — Katherine Kelly
You will never get the answer you need if you don’t talk to someone you are interested in. You will feel regret. If you never try, you’ll always wonder.
If you try, you’ll get the answer you’re looking for.
People notice how you behave in public and can easily figure out if you’re anti-social or not. You don’t have to be the loudest in the room to be social. That’s not how it works. You want to be natural in the way you talk. Talk from your heart and be authentic.
How do I learn it?
Watch how people talk and communicate with those you’re close with. The more you talk, the sociable you become. You have to fail to become better at it because you’ll fail at first. It doesn’t matter as long as you continue to get out of your comfort zone.
If you think you’re an amazing person who deserves the best, show people who you really are and the right ones will want to spend time with you. The right ones will like you for you.
Watch people talk in interviews and observe how they communicate with each other and visualize yourself being good at articulating yourself in a similar situation.

2. Self-Love.
“It wasn’t until I stopped and fell in love with Lisa, that the rest of the world began to fall in love with Lisa.” - Lisa Nichols.
This is super important for your own well-being.
Did you know, feeding your own soul with love, that people will actually start to feel a difference in you? People can sense that you love yourself.
One time I talked to a guy for 1 hour and he suddenly said “You have a glow on your face. I like how you love yourself.” I didn’t tell him I loved myself, but he could feel and sense my energy. My energy told him what I thought about myself. He sensed my energy was loving and warm. I’m not really trying to brag about myself here, but you get my point.
Your energy tells a lot about yourself.
Many people are self-conscious about their own appearances because they compare themselves to other people. It’s time to put people off the pedestal and put yourself on the pedestal. When you put other people on the pedestal, you’ll likely not receive the same respect as you give them.
You can look like a model but be insecure as hell or you can look average and have high confidence that makes people attracted to you.
When you love yourself, you’ll see yourself in a different way.
You can give yourself time to figure out what it is you like about yourself. It’s a challenging task and you’ll feel emotional for facing yourself but it’s an important, progressive step to grow.
How do I learn it?
- Look at yourself in the mirror. Look into your eyes in the mirror and praise the person you’ve become. Find at least one thing you like about yourself every day.
- Don’t be hard on yourself. You break your inner spirit if you talk negatively to yourself. Talk about how amazing you’re.
- Speak up for yourself. You love yourself when you speak up for yourself. It’s aggressive and people may think you’re rude, but it’s true love for yourself. Your inner self will thank you for it.
- Cut things off. Don’t tolerate being friends with people who are not your match. Let them go. Cut it short with that guy/girl. Don’t allow yourself to be a second choice or backup plan.

Eating healthy is so hard for some people. It can be one of the hardest skills to accomplish if you don’t have a strong mindset and stick to your plan. You want everything to taste good.
The reason you eat junk food has 3 reasons: 1. Taste. 2. Culture 3. Consumption.
Not all kids eat healthy and some of them never had anyone telling them to eat healthy and why health is so essential for them to become productive and energetic during the day such as surviving the school days by having more energy and focus.

4. Mindfulness
When was the last time you lived in the moment?
There won’t be peace in your life if you don’t have peace from within. Grey hair comes early than it should. The school is bringing more stress in kids than what they can bear. It’s all about work, work, work, and never relax for a second. You stop living in reality because you’re only “existing” in reality and not LIVING in reality.
The teacher gives kids 10 assignments to finish next week, but they don’t teach the kids how to decrease their stress level while being in school?
The new Gen X kids live with extreme anxiety these days. If we taught them to meditate, you’ll see their anxiety decrease. It will help them to be more focused, concentrated, and productive in their homework.
Meditation has never been more important. It can help clear your mind from being a cluttered mind. You get many great ideas from meditating and you’ll feel more productive using meditation. You’ll feel happier and clear about what you want. You’re able to complete tasks quicker.
How do I learn it?
- Meditate for 10–20 minutes per day if you have a busy schedule. Enjoy the stillness. Find a quiet area to focus on.
- Focus on the calm sounds around you: the birds, winds, rain, or the relaxing music you’re listening to.
- Do the four fold breath: You hold each of your breath for 4 seconds before exhaling and you do this 4 times. Inhale, hold it for 4 seconds, and out through your mouth.

The Final Thought
Whatever you do, do it because you want to change for the better. Change starts from within yourself first. Learn to love the moment of learning something new and challenging yourself every day. You’ll see an effective result when you apply these simple free skills.
Not many people are aware of these skills because they’ve never had these topics discussed at all.
I know the taste of junk food is amazing. You may not get health issues now but you will later if you have the same unhealthy diet for many years. You have the opportunity to stay healthy as early as you can while you’re alive.
I know being social is anxious when you’ve been betrayed before but you have to move forward. See your betrayal as a lesson and a blessing. Losing someone who betrayed you can be the best thing you’ve never had. You’ll be granted someone better because you know exactly what you want in someone this time. You want someone loyal and authentic.
It’s entirely up to you if you want to use affirmation in the present or future tense. Your subconscious mind may easily absorb the message better if you say it in future tense because when you say it in the present tense, the disbelief will still be rooted deep inside because it’s not there in your current reality. That’s my idea, but you can decide what works best for you.
Whether you love yourself or hate yourself; you are right either way. Just don’t expect to achieve success and positive change when you’re in the same loophole. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Life can already be suffering so go easy on yourself and listen to your intuition and what it tells you. Block that person if he/she is too immature for you as a friend.
What you love about yourself, you’ll heal yourself.
