4 Passive Income Streams That Made Me $8471.97 in December
My Last Passive Income Report On Medium
In February 2023, I decided to document my passive income journey online each month on Medium.
I had a goal to reach $10,000 passively by December.
Each month, I documented my progress whether good or bad, detailing the decisions I made and the income streams I quit.
As the momentum built and December was drawing near, I had a gut feeling this would be the month I would hit my goal.
Here’s my December breakdown.
- Affiliate Marketing — $197.43
Initial Goal — $1500
Looking back, I had a very high estimate for affiliate marketing.
It’s possible to earn this amount monthly however for my niche, I’ve always struggled to find products and services I truly believe in to promote.
I do promote a few products and services across my social media platform but it helps if you constantly create content around those products and services which I’m not willing to do.
I had an affiliate program I was promoting cut reduce their commissions and from then on I decided I would rather focus on promoting my products and services which I am in full control of.
2. Youtube — $363.82
Initial Goal — $1000
I had another high estimate for Youtube but I would have been much closer to this goal if I published more videos in December.
I should have considered the fact that December is the festive season and rather than working I was enjoying my time with family and friends.
My YouTube channel has seen so much growth this year and I’m immensely proud of it.
I published a total of 77 videos that took time to research, script, record, edit and upload. I felt the effects of creating all these videos toward the end of the year.
I’ve begun building a team and outsourcing areas of my videos to increase the production quality so look out for more videos this year.
3. Medium — $605.03
Initial Goal — $250
This was the first goal I surpassed and it’s swiftly become one of my favourite online income streams.
I had a 50.6% increase from November and I wrote a total of 29 articles.
In my last monthly report, I had one reader comment about the amount of articles I write not being passive income.
My view is the majority of my articles are 2–4 minutes long and only take me 30 minutes to 1 hour to write. My main focus is building my newsletter so after each article I link it underneath.
I enjoy the community here and how supportive the writers are.
I love writing about my online business and sharing my progress so 29 articles might be a lot of articles for some but it doesn’t feel like work to me.

4. Amazon KDP — $7305.69
Initial Goal — $6000
This was my highest-earning passive income stream for December.
I surpassed my target by more than $1300!
The Christmas season was a huge factor in boosting my sales as I sold over 3000 books.
I believe this is the ultimate passive income stream since you don’t have to deal with the packing, shipping or customer service. Amazon handles all of it.

Other Income Streams
I didn’t have the time to dedicate to Etsy, Merch By Amazon and Creative Fabrica as I streamlined my focus onto the income streams with my highest earning potential.
Final Thoughts
I didn’t hit my goal of $10,000 in December however I came close to it.
It’s important to have goals and targets for your business to work towards and even if you don’t hit them, you can still work towards these targets in the future.
