3 Habits That Make Success Happen
Getting what you want is easy.

Success is not something that happens to you. Success is your mindset, and you make it happen.
To feel like you are winning in life, you need to influence the outside world from the inside: how you perceive the world is what determines your reality.
Commit to changing your thinking patterns, and you will uncover your potential for creating your best life.
Know what you want.
To feel satisfied in life, you need to be aware of your destination. Purpose drives your happiness.
Do you want a financially independent life? Do you want to surround yourself with healthy relationships? Do you want a six-pack and a wardrobe full of crop tops?
The difficulty that many people struggle with is that they don’t know what they want.
It doesn’t have to be as specific as: “I want to be a journalist, working for The New York Times with a steady income”. The goal can be a feeling — the end state you want to achieve when living your dream life, career, relationship status etc.
Knowing how you want to feel is enough to move in the right direction:
- ‘I want to feel at peace and satisfied with my career.’
- ‘I want to feel confident in my own body.’
- ‘I want to feel excited about going to work.’
Your job is to place an order on what you want and tune into the desired feeling state. Your intuition, the right timing, the Universe, whatever you like to call it, will cooperate with your willingness and clarity.
You need to be willing to move towards your goals every day.
You need to have clarity on where you are going.
Believe it is possible for you.
Another area where many people trip up on their goals is a lack of self-belief.
They convince themselves that whatever they want is not possible, because of the conditions they have been brought up into, or because they lack certain skills.
As we know it, when studying the lives of many successful people, that is not the case.
People who have lived in poverty achieve financial success.
People who have been abandoned as children establish healthy and supportive relationships.
Disabled people set world-records and achieve jaw-dropping success despite unfavourable circumstances.
Your thoughts must match your feelings.
If you want to be successful, you need to think like a successful person.
What does a successful life feel like?
Is it confidence, unwavering faith, optimism, resilience?
None of the motivational actions will support your growth and success if not followed with discipline in thinking powerful thoughts:
- I believe in myself.
- I always strive towards my goals, no matter what others may say.
- I know what I want, and I know I deserve it.
- I am capable of achieving greatness.
Play those mantras on repeat in your head upon waking up. Set your mindset to thinking great thoughts first thing in the morning. This habit signals the brain that your main priority is yourself.
Don’t rack your brains how it will happen or when, but believe that there is no other possibility for you than to succeed. A motivated mindset drives your choices.
You want to be in a place where you feel calm and confident when thinking about what you want to achieve.
When you believe in yourself, there is no need to argue or prove your point.
You know your success is inevitable.
You know your relationship is going to get better.
You know that money is coming.
Root for others.
When you strive towards success, and you see others who thrive and get what they want, do not let it frustrate you.
See their success as a confirmation that you are on the right path.
Remember, you want to already live a successful life, even if you haven’t reached your goals yet.
What does a successful person act and think like?
- They cheer others.
- They celebrate the successes of their family and co-workers.
- They don’t criticize but inspire.
Don’t get wrapped up in the achievements of others because that is how you lose your focus. To get what you want, you need to keep your eyes on the prize.
Determine what matters to you, how you want to live your life and let that be your roadmap to success. Let others choose their paths.
When you start carrying yourself differently, people and the Universe will respond to your new feeling state.
When you change your thinking patterns (the input), your environment starts reflecting that (the output).
Maintain that new character, and your life will unfold in a new direction.
