12 Prompts in 4 Minutes
Thank you to Nancy Oglesby for these prompts…
This is in response to Nancy Oglesby’s November Prompts in The Challenged.
It’s not all about gratitude, but thankfulness is definitely represented this month.
#1 Denise Kendig is wondering if we have any Halloween regrets.
I absolutely LOVE dressing up. But for some reason I haven’t done it in years. So, I definitely regret that. And I vow to dress up next year and go to a party or a bar, or something, where they have a Halloween costume contest.
A haunted house sounds like fun too!
#2 From regrets to gratitude. What have you learned from doing something you regret?
When I was a kid, all my girlfriends and I had a Halloween party. We snuck out in the middle of the night and toilet papered her entire block. The trees and everything.
I definitely learned to respect other people’s property. I can only imagine what it took to clean up all that mess.
#6 Lynn L. Alexander has us locked in a department store for 24 hours and wonders how we might occupy ourselves.
I’m giving myself unlimited funds on this one. I recently lost weight, and I would hit the clothing section like crazy. When that was done, I’d find the most comfortable bed and take the longest nap ever.
#7 Leigh-Anne Dennison asks what book, album, television show, or film you would want to watch again for the first time. (If you were able to wipe it from your mind.)
Definitely Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom. His dialogue is absolutely brilliant, and when I want to get inspired I re-watch an episode or two.
#8 Rachella Angel Page asks, do you now, or have you ever, had a celebrity obsession?
When I was twelve or thirteen I was obsessed with The New Kids On The Block (one of the original boy-bands.)
Joey was my favorite.
I had a poster on my wall, and I put on red lipstick and left a kiss mark on it.
I went to three of their concerts with my best friend Kat, and I got laryngitis from screaming so loudly.
#9 Delaney Patterson is a nosy little thing. She wants to hear all about your first date. (And, so do I!)
My first date was to the Golf Masters in Augusta, GA. I was ten or eleven. My boyfriend’s dad drove us there in his Bentley.
It was so fancy!
I knew nothing about golf, so it was all very weird. But I had an awesome time nonetheless.
#11 Emma Vincent: What loving life lesson would you like to gift to someone in your life?
The gift of understanding. I have severe agoraphobia, and it would be nice if certain people in my life would try and be a little more understanding.
#15 What quality are you most grateful for in your partner?
His loving nature. My husband is a catch by anyone’s standards. He is kind, understanding and loving, amongst so many other things. He never falters, he is always there when I need him.
#18 Nathan Chen: What is something that used to scare you but no longer does? Why was it so scary?
I used to be REALLY scared of the dark. The shadows creeping on the walls. The light passing through the shades from cars driving by.
I still use a salt lamp on my nightstand. It exudes just enough light to keep me feeling safe.
#23 What’s the best thing that happened today?
Today my cat Hannah crawled up my chest and had me hold her like a baby. She kept head butting my face. It was one of the most adorable things I’ve ever experienced.
#28 Who is your favorite musician, or band? Do you have a favorite track?
The Beatles are by far my favorite band. I don’t have an absolute favorite but Come Together is way up there!
#29 Lynn L. Alexander asks, “If you could afford it, would you have plastic surgery? If yes, what would you have done?”
I recently lost some weight, so I have definitely thought about getting some nips and tucks here and there.
Thank you for reading my answers. I’d love to hear your responses.
