You Have to Think Like a Spider to Achieve Long Term Success.
Spiders are way more patient than most people I know. And maybe, that is the trick to long term success. Remember, every Lego tower starts by laying a foundation brick beneath.

If you see cobwebs at the intersections of the ceiling and the wall, you have spiders to thank. They love to spin. It is as if their life is about going around in circles.
We, humans, tend to do that too. When we are lost in life, we either standstill, or we move around in circles.
The difference between spiders and us? When they move around in circles, they are engaged in productive work. Yup, that is right. They are busy spinning their cobwebs, setting themselves up for success.
You see, they don’t have an income mindset. They have an asset-building mindset that only a few of us have. They do not engage in primitive hunting the way felines do. They do not run, chase, fight, and get injured in the process.
They build traps. These traps can be deadly to the natural world, especially for insects. Have you seen those cobwebs in nature reserves? Man, those are scary.
The domestic spiders catch mosquitoes and houseflies. These are small returns. Spiders in the wild catch dragonflies, bees, wasps, butterflies, and others for their biological sustenance. They hunt for the big game.
That is probably the reason they grow so much bigger than the domestic ones. Naturally, you get bigger as the portion of your food gets bigger, am I right?
Actually, that is not the point of this story. The point is I am impressed by the way they think and operate.
I imagine it takes days and weeks to spin a web big and strong enough to within the natural destructions of rain and wind. That means they could potentially go hungry for longer if Mother Nature decides to be temperamental.
With or without delay, they choose to go hungry first to build their asset. And when their asset is up and functioning, they reap the returns from that point till the day they perish.
They are architects. They are civil engineers. They are builders.
They know how important it is to build things that last. They recognize the importance of building assets that provides them infinite returns through the food that they eat.
There is so much to learn from them.
And along the course of our life and time, we have to ask ourselves one question which our spider friends have got it figured out and passed down through their DNA structure.
Are we going to choose suffering today to build assets returning high returns to us in the future and possibly forever?
Or we choose to chase after a high-income month on month, without a guarantee that our jobs will last for the next 10 years?
Yes, we always have a choice.
We have to think and exercise the options in front of us.
Long term success through cobwebs, anyone?
