Writers And Readers Who Write And Read In Synchronicity

A scary theory to be confirmed

Photo by Markus Spiske on Unsplash

The well-known principle of synchronicity, made famous by psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung, is a fundamental aspect any writer would like to rely on.

Synchronicity was defined by Jung himself as an “acausal connecting principle” in which events, both large and small, in the external world might align to the experience of the individual, perhaps mirroring or echoing personal concerns or thoughts.

What a fabulous world to live in!

Why am I telling you about this synchro-thing

It’s happened to me various, different times a curious fact.

As soon as I decided to write or cite or read a fellow writer, kind of mysteriously appeared on my screen some notification suggesting me readings by the same author.

Or, in some other occasions, comments or highlights showed up by this same author on my articles, and I had never interacted with him previously!

Enough to let me ask myself if I was facing a case of synchronicity.

What do you think about?

Previous signs

I had had previous signs relatable to this matter, which I didn’t categorize for lack of imagination and flexibility.

I mean, how many times does it happen to you to read articles on the same topics you’ve decided to write on in the last ten minutes?

Or, how many times do you find articles with similar titles, only slightly different in style?

Is it synchronicity working on the background?

A frightening theory

If it were just synchronicity involving fellow writers and myself, I wouldn’t mind too much.

That would be an interesting matter.

I like the idea of a net of people related and vibrating on the base, for example, of a reciprocal principle. Never heard of it? See what Sahil Patel has to say.

But what if the connection was actively perpretated by a third element, not only by you and the other writers?

Imagine if an external A.I., operating on the same platform you’re writing on together with your fellow writers, had the role of supervising and facilitating and directioning and conditioning all the relationships between writers and readers.

Wouldn’t it be scary?

Conclusion

I had a remote idea about the topic when I was writing my article on Design Thinking and Writing. You can check it here:

I had no idea it might have this incredible, frightening power of manifestation through synchronicity.

I’m a bit scared, indeed. And you?

Read and grow with other fellow writers on Reciprocal.
