Maggie’s List is looking for writers!

We’re looking for stories that make people think, that open minds, that explore sexuality, kink, and freedom. Maggie’s List is a new publication, and as such is still under development. Here is some more information about why I started Maggie’s List, and what sort of writing Maggie’s List will publish.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Well written posts that are thought-provoking, funny, informational, or all of the above
  • Posts that come from your own personal experience or that provide links to research to back up your points.
  • Creative writing that is engaging, edgy, or educational.
  • Posts that are well-formatted, with a headline, subheading, and photo, as well as additional subheadings in the article itself. Check out this post for Tips and Tricks to get you started.

We’re looking for articles over 300 words, but are willing to make exceptions.

Things We Do Not Accept:

  • Posts that are racist, sexist, anti-LGBTQ, or hate-filled in any other way.
  • Writings that sexualize children or animals.
  • Anything else that goes against the Medium guidelines.

We will include a variety of topics, beginning with Safety, Mental Health, BDSM, LGBTQIA+, sexuality and aging, and erotica. If you have a piece that you would like to include but which doesn’t fit within these topics, let me know. As I said, the publication is still under development, so there is plenty of room for growth.

What we want you to follow:

  • You must include an image you have the right to publish and include credit for it. When in doubt, use Unsplash which will easily include a reference when you download the photo. Your photos also must follow Medium guidelines, including no pornography.
  • Check your work and run it through a grammar check program such as Grammarly. No plagiarism.
  • Follow medium curation guidelines.
  • Please don’t include ads or affiliate links in your article. You may include links to up to two of your own posts.
  • It may take up to 72 hours to accept or reject your article. Please be patient.
  • Drafts are preferred but pieces you have previously published will also be accepted at this time.

These guidelines will be updated as we go along, but I think we have enough now to get this party started.

If you want to become a writer,

please send an email to [email protected] with a link to your user profile, and why you want to be a writer or a link to a sample of your writing. I will get back to you within 72 hours. Once you have been accepted as a writer, you will be able to submit your writing by selecting “add to publication” under the three dots next to publish. If you are not familiar with how to submit to a publication, read this piece which offers step-by-step guidance on how to do it.
