Abstract

In a personal essay titled "Work Less and Achieve More," Trista Signe Ainsworth shares her insights from a 100-day spiritual journey inspired by David R. Hawkins' book "Letting Go." She recounts an experience with an angel number, 12:12, which she interprets as a sign of being on the right path and a reminder to maintain positive thoughts and focus on dreams. Ainsworth advocates for a balanced lifestyle that values quality over quantity, suggesting that slowing down and doing less can lead to greater achievements and satisfaction. She outlines her daily and weekly routine, which includes writing on Medium, taking action for her business, and producing a weekly YouTube video, as a testament to the effectiveness of this approach. Ainsworth's message is one of encouragement for readers to simplify their daily actions, embrace calmness, and trust in the power of small, consistent efforts to bring success.

Work Less and Achieve More

Day 78: Choosing to do less with intention brings peace

Just the other day, I was tidying up the kitchen, and I glanced over at the oven clock. It said 12:12! I was so surprised to see those numbers! I often see other angel numbers, but I had never seen this one before. Each time I see number combinations like these, I take a quick moment to say a thank you prayer. I am so grateful for all of the blessings in my life, and seeing these numbers reinforces that I am on the right path. I found out that 12:12 means that I am on the right path, I must keep my thoughts positive, and I must keep focusing on my dreams to bring them to reality. What a beautiful message! I love all of the signs along the way on my 100-day spiritual journey exploring the book Letting Go, by David R. Hawkins.

Lately, I have found that the more I slow down, and the fewer things I do, the more I achieve each day. Life is not a quick race, it is a journey in which we take one step each day. Each day I am taking steps to get there. There is no need to race, to try to be more productive or, to work too much.

The lifestyle on this level shows a balance of work, enjoyment, and love. There is not a necessity for over-ambition or “workaholism,” although people on the level of courage are capable of considerable energy output if the situation requires it. -David R. Hawkins

In the past, I used to jump at the opportunity to take every course, try all the latest productivity hacks, and strive to have the perfect morning routine. None of those things matter if I am not calm and intentional with my daily actions. Now my focus has narrowed, and my achievements have increased.

My daily and weekly focus consists of three things:

  1. Write daily on Medium.
  2. Take a daily action for my business
  3. Produce and post a video to my YouTube channel each week

Accomplishing these three things each week brings me closer to my goals each day, as well as freeing up my afternoons to relax and enjoy the day. I feel that small daily actions can add up to success if we have positivity and faith. We are winning each and every day by putting in some effort.

Although effort is still required to accomplish goals, it is much less than on the lower levels. There is greater satisfaction and gratification because there is greater reward with less effort than that which would be required to overcome fear. -David R. Hawkins

Now that I have let go and am not focused on my fears, I can accomplish the things that allow me to step forward in my life each and every day. This gives me the peace of mind to know that my daily effort is the way to success. There is no need to hurry. Each moment is there for a reason.

My prayer and my intention for you today is to slow down. Take a look at your daily and weekly actions. Can you get your list down to three items? You deserve to have time to enjoy life and to savor all of these precious moments.

What is your three item list for each day or week?
