Words of Encouragement
For Women of Colour Who Are Scared to Share Their Words.
As women of colour, we often go through life fearful and alone.
Scared to peep out from under the covers in case our words or presence causes offence.
We often hold ourselves back, afraid to make a stand, shine a light and start writing and sharing our work.
Yet there comes a day, a spark of light touches our heart and we know that this is the day, the season and time to say enough is enough.
We hold our pens and declare:
I am alive. I am here to make a difference. I am the breeze in the wind, the ripple in the wave, the roar in the lion.
We look in the mirror of self-love, smile at our reflection and recommit to the truth:
I am ready to open my heart;
To honour my words, the messages inside;
To nurture my spirit, take a stand and surrender to the living word.
Will, you, dear writer-friend, dear woman of colour and other marginalised women, join the writers here, will you take a stronger stand in your life?
You have a story to share, a gift, a message to inspire and encourage the world.
Will you be the change your heart longs to be and share your words with humanity?
You can do it.
I believe in you.
Thank you.
