Women Have Hilarious Height Requirements In A Man According To Bumble Date
Tall men are sexy.
“I would never date a man who is shorter than me” or “He has to be at least 6 feet tall” are phrases you hear from women again and again when it comes to the height of a potential partner.
Most men know that height is an important factor in female mate choice. But the extent of this preference is surprising. Data from the dating app bumble shows the reality of women’s height requirements.
The short kings among us need to be strong right now.
Bumble Heigth Filters
The average American male is 5 feet 9 tall.
A few days ago I came across a statistic that makes women’s height requirements for men seem almost insane in comparison.
On the dating app bumble, women can filter the men that are proposed to them according to certain characteristics, such as height.
This graph shows how many women who filter by size find a man of a certain size.

Here are a few pieces of interesting data:
- The average male ( 5 feet 9) is only included in a little over 15% of the height filters.
- Even extremely tall men seem to be attractive. More women include 7 feet tall men than 5 feet-11 tall men in their filters.
- The magic number of 6 feet seems to be an important threshold. While only a little over 30% of women want to see 5'11" men, almost 60% include 6 feet guys in their search.
- If you are 6 feet 6 tall you are one of the men included in most women’s size filters.
The data makes it look worse than it is.
To be honest, this data seems almost depressing.
At least if you are under 6 feet tall.
However, I think you have to put the whole thing into perspective a bit.
- First, not all women filter by size. This means that the women who place special emphasis on size are massively overrepresented in this statistic.
- Besides, women probably search for the idea of their dream man on dating apps more often than in real life, because you can easily do that with such filters.
- In online dating, superficial things like height and appearance play an exaggerated role.
Short kings, this does not mean that you have to give up dating. Getting to know a woman in real life is much better anyway.
This gives you the opportunity to convince with other qualities. I am sure that the majority of women who filter by size on bumble prefer in real life a 5'8" man who is charming, well dressed, and toned to a dumb and overweight 6'6" man.
Ditch bumble and tinder and go to the bar.
The Tall Man Advantage
Unfortunately, it is undeniable that it is an advantage to be tall as a man.
Life isn’t fair. I guess we’ll have to accept this fact and make sure we level up in the areas of our lives we can control.
This is evident in many areas of life. Not only in dating.
- For example, about 60% of CEOs are over 6 feet tall, while only about 15% of the total population is that size.
- Tall men earn significantly more on average than shorter men.
- Research also shows that tall men are happier. Presumably, as a result of the advantages just mentioned.
