Why the Sex Position Scissor Is One of My Favourites

The hows and whys of one of my favourite sexual position

I love sex in all positions and forms. But I have my preferences. The scissor is on my top ten list; it’s one position that always leads me to orgasm, and not only because of the physical part.

One thing I didn’t know before writing this piece is there are several variants for the scissor position, each one with their own title. For the sake of my article, I’ll keep calling it simply “scissor”. And I’ll try all its variants, of course.

What is the Scissor sex position?

My scissoring always starts as spooning. My partner lays behind me and penetrates me. When he’s inside me, he shifts his body until he’s perpendicular to me (our bodies make a 90 degrees angle.)

The thing I like the most in the scissor is that it’s versatile and, no matter what position the bodies adapt, I always get an orgasm.

The pluses of the scissor

There are several reasons I love this sex position:

Clitoral stimulation

The most obvious pleasure a woman gets in the scissor is clitoral stimulation at the same time she’s being penetrated.

I’m part of the 30% of women that can’t reach orgasm only with penetration (apart from a few special occasions), I always need clitoral stimulation. Usually, my lover and I use a wand, or we adopt positions that stimulate my clit while he’s thrusting me. Along with cowgirl, the scissor is the position that I know for sure I will orgasm with no “extra” help.

Deep penetration (in a dominating way)

The submissive in me can’t resist being fucked hard, with desire and possession. For me, the scissor is a perfect position for that, because besides physical pleasure (see above), it feeds my mental and emotional sexual needs.

In the scissors position, my partner will lay his body on the mattress, grab my top leg, and uses it as propulsion, deepening the thrust more and more. I also love the variant where he grabs my hip and pulls me hard against him.

A different angle of penetration

In the scissor position, the thrusting is made side-to-side rather than top to bottom (or the inverse.) This is a change in the way I feel penetration, which is great. Got to love some novelty in sex, right?

Flexible position

The scissor position is perfect; it adjusts to any of my moods. If I’m in a lazy mood, fine! I’ll let my partner do all the work, I’ll lay there and receive that deep and intense penetration. If I’m in the mood to participate in the thrusting, I’ll throw my hips against him and, together, we make an intense fuck.

Because your body is facing up during scissor, you can either make eye contact with your lover or look into the opposite direction. I love to look into my partner’s pleasure face; his facial expressions while fucking me are so intense that always arouses me; he drags me into his pleasure. But sometimes it feels nice to lock this view and merely use my body as a pleasure receptor.

Physical closeness

I love it when my partner fucks me from behind. Again, the submissive in me…

We do a lot of the doggy style position; I think it’s one of his favourite positions. However, I’m a very tactile person; I need to feel his touch, his skin on mine. The doggy position hardly gives me that. That’s where the scissor makes all the difference.

Because it’s so versatile, we adjust our bodies in a way that he’s fucking me from behind without ever losing our closeness: his legs are entwined with mine, and his hands are always grabbing a part of me: my leg, my breast or my hair.

It’s the perfect position to feed my kinks

Like everybody else, there are a few tricks that set my body on fire. My sweet spots are: pulling my hair, biting the back of my neck and put a hand around my neck while fucking me.
