Anyone who’s been reading my stories for the past few months or more, already knows what a huge fan I am of self promotion.

I’ve shared numerous stories about the need for writers on Medium to get more proactive with promoting their stories.

Among the many stories that you can find on the subject of self promotion; I’ve written quite a few about using social media resource tool.

One social media site that I regularly mention you can benefit from is Twitter.

Well apparently, great minds really do think alike, because I found out that I’m not the only one suggesting Twitter to Medium writers.

I discovered the same writing advice given to new members who go to learn all about the Medium Partner Program.

Yep!

In the official rules about how to get started earning money on Medium, they actually encourage using Twitter.

This is what they wrote:

“If you don’t meet those requirements, please keep writing and building your community until you do. Don’t forget to connect to Twitter so your audience can find you…”

You can also check out stories from Medium Creators like Teressa P. and see what they have to offer on the subject of Twitter. This particular creator wrote:

5 Unexpected Ways to Promote Your Articles

With high profile writers like this, encouraging us to take advantage of a particular resource, what should that mean to us writers?

Twitter is still a useful resource

Lately, there has been a lot of related news about what Elon Musk has done to Twitter, since taking ownership of the company.

Things truly do appear to be chaotic and on a downward path, thanks to the new management (or some might say mismanagement).

But as far as I can tell, right now, Twitter is still a useful resource, when it comes to promoting your Medium stories — at least for the time being.

As I stated in the opening paragraph, you can find lots of helpful stories, about creative ways to use the Twitter social media site, as a way to build your audience.

Here are a few that I recommend reading:

Final Thoughts

Well, now that you’ve heard it straight from the horse’s mouth — not me, the Medium officials — it’s time you get busy on social media.

If your earnings are dwindling and you feel the need to do something proactive, other than constantly checking your stats, why not do a little self promotion on Twitter?

And by the way, there’s something else I discovered, when I first came across what Medium had to say about Twitter.

This time, it has to do with another helpful resource that’s available.

You can learn all about it, in the story:

Another Awesome Medium Resource that ALL Writers Should Take Advantage Of
