WALKING ROUTE 66

When You Have A Good Trip

Everyone else does too.

After freshening up at the c-store, I went across the freeway to McDonald’s to get some decent coffee. An employee was cleaning the parking lot. I asked him if he had washed the parking lot before they opened.

He said, “No, it rained last night.” We had a small argument about whether or not it rained the night before because where I slept, across the freeway, it was bone-dry — another surprise and delight.

I found the water tower in Bourbon to be hilarious. They sure know how to party, I thought.

My destination for the day was Sullivan; I arrived on the outskirts of town around 2 PM. I saw an Imo’s Pizza. I had heard about it in St.Louis as a local go-to pizza joint.

I liked the thin crust, and the toppings were of acceptable quality, but the sauce — I mean sauce is what makes a pizza — It was as if they had watered down some tomato puree and used as pizza sauce.

It was a disappointing experience, to say the least. But, hey, not everything in life is just the way you like it — different strokes for different folks.

There was a family with the most adorable two-year-old girl I had seen. I stopped and made a balloon puppy for her, and a butterfly for her sister on my way out. I got to talk to the mom a bit and left her a flyer.

The next day, I was surprised and delighted to find this on my blog.

Earlier in the day, my higher self had told me that I needed to get some knee braces, so I went to Wal-mart and got some. There was plenty of time, so I went over to Burger King and gave away balloons.

I give away balloons, and people give away money. It works for me.

Finally, around midnight, I went over to the Flying J Travel Center (Truckstop) to take a shower and get some sleep.

As I Think back and ponder.

You never who you are going to impact, or in what manner, but as long as you live your best life, being true to yourself, you are bound to make a difference in the world.

Not only did I impact the lives of others with my walk four years ago, from the comments I have been receiving, but I can also tell that it is helping people now as well. I was also fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of other people living their best life and being generous toward me. And, for your support of my efforts today, letting me know that I am on the right track of fulfilling my life’s purpose.

Stay blessed and be happy, my friends.

Day 32: Month 2 Begins (Original blog post).

Just for fun.
