When I Was Brave
Poetry ~ Lyrics
* We know I loved you, But you were not, really there, With your arms around me, And your words, full of care.
For a hundred reasons, I could be stone cold, washed-out, bitterness.
I thought I saw you, In centuries of black and white, Still the ghost of longing, Follows me in a different life.
Oh I could stand the madness, If you would leave your hand, in mine.
When I was brave, so brave … I let my, love drown.
In sudden waves … They say I, sailed my, way out.
But how could I, Ever sail my, way out …
We know I loved you, But you were not really there, Though you’re made of kindness, A better offer was had instead.
So for the longest time, I have been sleeping in, my chair.
When I was brave, so brave … I let my, love drown.
And now we’re dead … They say I, sailed my, way out.
But how could I, Ever sail my, way out …
