DRABBLE STORY ARC #1: UNTIL LUCK RUNS OUT

What’s With the Cops?

A choose your own adventure story — drabble edition!

Image by the author with MidJourney

This is a continuation of “You Are Dead”, a “choose your own” fiction story (drabble edition) created by Bradan Writes Stories. You can head back to the previous chapter ‘Home Sweet Home’ by John Fanidis, or find out more about the publication and how to contribute here.

You decide to call the cops. Despite your recent brush with Death, this seems more of a mundane crime.

You step past the overturned furniture and debris, and pick up the phone. Dial. A voice asks you which service. You reply, “Police,” after which there is a long delay.

It’s nerve-wracking being in this ransacked house alone…

Then a croaky voice says, “Drive to downtown Albuquerque. Stop at the motel called the La Hacienda. Officers will meet you there.”

“They can’t come here?”

“Just drive!”
