What Stories You Write and What Stories You Keep To Yourself?
How you decide?
Writing brings an amazing world of your inner thoughts and ideas out to share with the rest of humanity.
How do you decide what to keep to yourself and what to share with others?
We have thousands and thousands of ideas each day. Our mind is an ongoing smooth machine that only slows down when we do some quiet mindfulness time of wonder in nature or in meditation. Even then the wheels still are turning in the background.
We have amazing abilities to think, process, explore and explain our most inner and intimate thought processes by writing down our ideas or sharing them by speech. We can also create and share our ideas with images and building things.
Writing is a creative expression of us. I think it is interesting to see each writer’s stories and what they are willing to share. People can share their fantasy world, real events, intimate details of their lives, advice, wisdom and more.
We can write about anything, really. All we need to do is observe our surroundings, nature, animals, plants, and objects around us and we can write what we see, and what we feel or make up a story to share. We can also research a topic area that we are very interested in summarize our findings and share them. Writing can be creative, research or technical based.
If right now you close your eyes and think about why you write what comes to you? What is the first word that pops into your mind?
👀Mine: I love it. I love writing. Even just the thought of writing brings a smile to my face and joy into my heart.
Now if you think about the stories you are willing to share with others. What comes to mind?
👀Mine: Stories of positivity, inspiration, life experiences, travel, cooking poetry, health facts, family stories, nature and animal stories and photography.
What stories do you keep to yourself?
Are there stories not worth writing? What secrets do you not want the world to know about you and your life, your thoughts?
👀Mine: Private stories of my life, intimacy, family secrets, some health issues, stories that are from other people and not meant to be shared, stories that simply I do not have enough time to write. Sometimes I come up with a whole story while driving or doing something else like gardening or traveling that gets lost in the mind somewhere. Maybe those stories were not meant to be written it was just for our minds to play with for a while.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Happy Writing,
Gabriella
