What is Your Favorite Quote, and Why?
Dancing Elephants prompt 4 of 52

I love inspiring quotes — they are a great source of encouragement for me. I am a self-confessed quote junkie and have a categorized and growing repository. Amazing how words can work magic when you feel low!
When I was a little girl, my mom would make little greeting cards for me whenever I needed a little push and write an inspiring quote in them. I still have some of her loving notes and look at them fondly every time I need a pep talk.
Over the years, I’ve also somehow gotten into the habit of sending my son a quote a day. Often humorous, but usually sneaking in a message.
I can reel off one for every occasion and my folks at home, I suspect, are highly amused with this habit of mine. Naturally, there are favorites.
I am sure we could all do with a good dose of encouragement every once in a while to give our flagging energy levels a boost and remind us of how awesome we are!
So, today, my prompt for you is this.
What is your favorite quote?
Why?
How did you choose it?
How does it make you feel?
How has it inspired you?
What role has the quote played in your life?
Do you have a poster of it on your wall?
When do you think of this quote the most? (describe the situation(s))
Can’t think of a quote? Use these to inspire you.
“Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best” – Henry Van Dyke
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain
“You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” – Steve Jobs
“If you worried about falling off the bike, you’d never get on.” – Lance Armstrong
“You can always become better.” – Tiger Woods
“Failure is an event, not a person. Yesterday ended last night.” – Zig Ziglar
And if you don’t believe in quotes, I want to know why. Write about it.
I am excited to see which quote inspires you, and to add to my collection! ❤ Start writing!
