Save the memories that bring a smile to your face and twinkle in your eyes. 👧🏼

Keep the smile on! I love it! 😀

I often say “I don’t smile because I am happy, 🙋🏼

I am happy because I smile” 😍😍😍😍😍

What is your quote?

I would love your thoughts on a smile too!

Today I wish to share with you that a smile means a lot to me.

It lifts my spirits.

It gives me joy!

It makes me feel positive!

It warms my heart!

Does it do the same for you? ⁉️⁉️⁉️

I am eager to know and am waiting to get your answers.

A smile truly inspires me. It motivates me and it invites me to a friendship for a lifetime.

I want to share a little story about a smile that happened to me.

I was walking across from home to the market to pick up some groceries. In the middle of the road, there was a high divider. On the divider there were plants. In the middle slept a young girl huddled together. I thought why is there so much poverty that people have to sleep on the divider inside the mud where there must be mosquitoes and bees and ants also?

She looked hungry, dirty, and emaciated but very sweet.

I had two chocolates and some salted biscuit packets in my hand. I gave one chocolate and one packet of biscuits to her as I thought she might be hungry and I walked across without looking at her thinking she might not like the gesture.

She was tugging at me to stop. I turned around.

I noticed her pulling the other chocolate from my hand too. She flashed a smile at me. Her whole face lit up and she actually looked very pretty. Her smile was so charming. It was something to die for.

I wish I could take her picture but just then a policeman came and moved her from the place shouting loudly.

“Oh, these road urchins!”

He shouted at her waving his little stick in his hand.

“Why do you trouble passers-by?” he shouted.

She looked up and flashed a smile again showing him the chocolates and biscuits and telling him that mam gave them to me. I was so hungry. I will eat it and also give my brother as well who is hungry like me.

She started humming a tune and looked happy.

Seeing her face lit and my smile too not contradicting what the child said the policeman forgot his anger.

He also just smiled and let her go!

A smile is infectious. It can be passed on to another person. It softens that person too and it becomes a circle.

Problems are happily solved.

It creates a ripple of smiles and makes people look so radiant and wonderful.

The power of a smile is to move a person from a bad mood to a great mood. It gives us joy.

“Let us always meet each other with a smile for the smile is the beginning of love” -Mother Teresa

There are different kinds of smiles

According to Healthline there are 10 different types of smiles. I categorized them into three main classifications

  • Reward: A Smile that changes sorrow or unhappiness and is able to convey positive feelings with happiness and contentment. It is an approval of the change in feelings.
  • Affiliation: A Smile that shows that there is a positive intention. It brings trustworthiness, and some kind of social connection. It gives a feeling of compassion or belongingness,
  • Dominance: Some smiles can be dangerous and convey contempt, or superiority. This type of smile does not show a good mood and brings in stress. They are not desirable.

Smiles can be sweet or dangerous. We choose the sweet smile of approval, contentment, and happiness.

The power of smiles from my experience

  • A smile relieves stress from a person and improves health. Put a smile on your face intentionally, even fake it. It will help to improve and elevate your mood and manage the stress you are experiencing. Thus helping in destressing you. It certainly activates pathways in the brain that influence your emotional state.
  • A smile makes you look attractive: People who smile attract others towards them. Negative facial expressions like frowns, and scowls, work in the opposite manner and push people away.
  • A smile brings positivity: A smile can influence your feelings of positivity. It sends a message to others of your wonderful personality and that you would like to make friends with the other person.

My message

A smile on your face says a million things about your life. Go ahead and smile and make the world a happy place. Bring a smile to your face. It will bring a twinkle to your eyes.

Try it! 👍🏼Smiles always bring happiness 😀😀😀
