Well, like most stars Jessica Simpson did get some professional help from celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak who counts among his clients, Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Lady Gaga, and Kanye West, who he ditched after West’s anti-semitic rants and calls the guy — unwell.

He is the same celebrity trainer behind the 5 Factor diet.

The Promise The 5-Factor Diet will not leave you hungry. According to its creator and celebrity fitness trainer Harley Pasternak, it is a lifestyle plan, not a diet. Every aspect of the strategy revolves around the number five. You’ll prepare and eat five 5-ingredient meals per day (each takes 5 minutes to prepare) and do five 25-minute workouts (each consisting of five 5-minute segments) per week.

And he further tweaked the 5 Factor diet for anyone who wanted a quick fix, all of 15 days is what it takes for someone to lose weight according to Pasternak if you follow his Pasternak’s Body Reset Diet.

What is Pasternak’s Body Reset Diet?

While Pasternak said the slow and steady wins the race and it is better to lose half a pound a week than lose it all in days.

But for many, that means having to diet for 40 weeks only to lose 20 pounds, and Drew Barrymore knows exactly what it takes to lose that much weight.

And instead of telling people — to lose it fast, gain it back fast. He designed Pasternak’s Body Reset Diet.

If you can’t beat them join them I’m gonna give you a healthy safe alternative to a rapid weight loss program in five days you’re gonna transform your body and learn to keep it off for the next ten. — Harley Pasternak in 2013.

The diet comes in 3 phases of five days each.

Phase 1 is where you get to be ‘good friends” with your blender. You might have guessed it, but the diet calls for a lot of smoothies, but mind you not juicing.

In the next five days, you will not eat anything instead drink a lot of smoothies. Actually 3 smoothies, color-coded to white at breakfast, red at lunch, and green at dinner that and 2 crunchy snacks.

An example of a white smoothie is what he calls the Apple Pie smoothie, which has apples and bananas in it.

In phase 2, in the next five days, you replace one smoothie with a solid meal, which he calls the S meal or solid single dish — which can be any of the ff.

  • soups
  • salads
  • sandwiches
  • stir fry

In the final phase or the last five days of Pasternak’s Body Reset Diet, you replace two of the smoothies with solid meals. And from there, it is the way you would eat for the rest of your life, or you transition into the five-factor diet.

One of the sample snacks Pasternak is air-popped popcorn, but don’t go over 150 calories per snack.

What did Jessica Simpson do to lose 100 pounds?

The last decade was years she had been giving life, she delivered three babies and she loved them all. But, let’s be honest here, her body had gone through a transformation and by her design and decision, she wanted to reclaim her body.

And she did.

Her longtime trainer Harley Pasternak designed a 5-step program for Jessica Simpson:

  1. getting in her steps,
  2. unplugging from technology for an hour,
  3. getting sleep,
  4. eating healthfully and
  5. exercising.

Step 1 is something we can do, walking. Pasternak revealed that Jessica did 6,000 steps a day for the first few weeks until she was able to do 12,000 a day.

“It’s three meals and two snacks a day, and each meal has protein, fiber and fat, and snacks are protein and fiber or protein and fat,” he says. “She’ll have foods that are very flavorable that are healthier versions of things like a tortilla soup or Tex-Mex.

Step 5 Exercising. Jessica would be at the gym for 45 minutes, three times a week. That’s all.

According to Pasternak losing 100 pounds wasn't the goal. It happened. He also believes as he calls it his mantra,

“you get lean in life, and strong in the gym.”

If that is a consolation for most of us, it means we don’t need a celebrity trainer but the will to start doing something.

Small steps as Jessica Simpson called it.

Replacing old habits with new habits, and the five tasks that he designed for Jessica Simpson, she had to be accountable by sending him an email that everything was done.

She kept her end of the bargain; she did her tasks.

And in the end, Jessica Simpson lost 100 lbs.
