The Science of Well Being

Coursera offers a free course from Yale University called The Science of Well Being. I discovered it last year when looking for something interesting to increase my knowledge about millennials.

Laurie Santos works with a group of Yale students on the difficulties they face as young adults in today’s world of social media. I have a 28-year-old son, so I’m invested in the subject.

You can learn so much about why social media is depressing us. How buying more and more goods online makes us happy, but only for a short while. The science behind our actions aids our decision-making for the future.

Recognizing When We Are in the Throes of Hedonic Adaptation, penned after studying part of the course lives in ILLUMINATION-Curated. As with other evergreen stories, they continue to crop up whenever they are relevant.

I hope to have inspired and entertained both readers and writers.

Thank you for reading.
