What Is 100 Days 100 Ways?
A new self-improvement model: Knowledge + Perseverance
This is a new concept for a Medium publication. I’ve read many how-to articles on this platform and I’ve been left wondering if the “I did it, here’s how you can” perspective really works.
By the time you’ve reached your goal and written a nice shiny article about it, you’ve unconsciously edited the experience in your head. Some of the trickier bits get left out.
So here’s how 100 Days 100 Ways works.
Writers take on a self-improvement project that is 100 days long. That’s long enough to make real progress and also be a real challenge to maintain.
They document their progress in 100 articles which they write every day during their project.
It’s obvious where the ‘100 Days’ comes from.
The ‘100 Ways’ bit is about 2 things — knowledge and perseverance. Each article should increase the knowledge of both the writer and the readers. By exploring why this is an area where they want to progress, learning and understanding occurs, and everyone’s chances of success improves.
There will be new ideas on mindset, approaches or theories which they investigate and experiment with along the way.
The perseverance part is about documenting the experience — the highs and lows and what keeps us going. There will be a progress update at the end of each day’s article.
What we are left with is a journey, from beginning to end, fully documented. All the twists and turns. Learnings emerging. Obstacles overcome.
You, the reader, can then see the complete, honest picture. What really happened. If you want to do the same, the roadmap is there.
Guess what, I’m the test case.
My project is to improve my relationship with food, and to move toward a healthy weight, in 100 days. You can follow my progress in this publication.
If the format and idea works, I’ll be looking for others to contribute their ‘100 Days 100 Ways’ stories in the future.
The journey starts here.
