Weekly Wisdom from Karen
New writers to ILLUMINATION chosen by the editor who read their stories and published them.
This is my personal selection of five new stories from five new writers. One of the writers has a chance at an ILLUMINATION-Curated curation.
Plus, this week, there are introductions to wonderful new publications from a fellow editor, myself, and the latest innovation from the founder of ILLUMINATION.
New Writers’ Stories
While in the queue reading some fantastic and other not so great submissions, I found this heartwarming gem from Danell teNyenhuis Black.
I go weak at the knees when I see a pug. Now I know they make the most adorable snoring sounds. I might even get one.
This is an excellent article from Walid AO. He offers a comprehensive guide to how he does things to boost his earnings. He’s a top writer in Gaming. He knows what he’s talking about. Most successful writers on ILLUMINATION follow the steps he mentions, especially steps 1–3.
There’s a lot of wisdom to be found in Asmita Karanje’s articles. This one particularly appeals to me because it’s about consuming too much social media. An activity I keep to a minimum.
Asmita writes with style and flair.
I don’t buy music these days. I have a Google Play subscription and usually listen to whatever I’m in the mood for.
A.M. Cal impressed me with this review; The True Meaning Behind Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” to the extent that I listened to it today. A.M. is right in what she says in this quote.
The album is rich with soul searching melodies and lyrics, a reflection of Swift’s personal life and career as she finds her way back to her roots.
I was fascinated by Taylor Foreman’s article; If You’re Not Using Your Dreams For Ideas, You’re Working Too Hard. He writes very well and has been published in several well-known publications other than ILLUMINATION.
If he hasn’t been curated yet, I think he will be soon. In the meantime, I’ll be making a Polly Poll for this story because I personally think it ticks all the boxes to be published on the ILLUMINATION-Curated publication. This is not a guarantee. My fellow editors will also need to vote that this story meets all the criteria.
If this article has already been curated by Medium, I will be removing Taylor’s story from ILLUMINATION and publishing it in ILLUMINATION-Curated.

Your unconscious mind is the underwater portion of the iceberg. Much larger than the little homunculus that is your waking consciousness.
Three New Publications
An extra this week is an introduction to three new publications, Words in Motion, Frugal Friday, and ILLUMINATION-Curated.
The first is the creation of my fellow ILLUMINATION and ILLUMINATION senior editor, Tree Langdon’s new publication called Words in Motion. If you love new words, you’ll love this pub!
My favourite new word is Derson — a dog that thinks it’s a person! What’s yours?
Here’s Tree’s invitation to new writers.
Tree kindly wrote an article for my little publication, Frugal Friday. It was curated the very same day she submitted and I published!
I’d love to hear your money and planet-saving tips. Here’s how to join.
Last, but definitely not least, is ILLUMINATION-Curated. This is the place where you can find the cream of stories written and submitted to ILLUMINATION. This publication is the latest innovation from our esteemed founder, Dr Mehmet Yildiz.
Thank you for reading. Please come again next week.
Here are ILLUMINATION’s new submission guidelines. If you hope to sail through the editor’s checkpoints, it will be worth your time to read it.
