WRITING PROMPTS/WEEKLY PROMPTS
Weekly Prompts January 2–8, 2023
Your weekly dose of writing prompts
Happy Anniversary, my beautiful babies. We did it!!! We have officially started a whole new year and a whole new round of weekly writing prompts. That’s right, kids. I tried to come up with a whole new list of ideas.
I’m sure you’ll recognize a few of the categories. I’m still doing the visual prompt — but gave it a new title. I’m still doing a poetry category, but now it’s about the form. And I brought back a couple of others I didn’t use very often last year. My goal was to give you all some new ideas to work from.
Now, what would an anniversary be without a gift? I am holding a little contest for the month of January.
I’m going to create a separate list for each author who creates something from my prompts. The person who creates the most pieces between now and the 31st will get a free ad space in my Graves Publications News newsletter for the month of February.
But for now, let’s get this new year started off “write”. My beautiful friends, I give you your weekly writing prompts for January 2–8, 2023. Let’s get this year started off with a bang.

Oh, my goodness. I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for an entire year now. I can’t thank you enough, Ravyne Hawke. I owe all of this to you. And for those who haven’t heard yet, Ravyne has reopened Promptly Written and is accepting writers. Be sure to read and follow all her guidelines.
Remember, if you publish something from one of our prompts, be sure to tag me (@sapheyerblu) and leave a link to this post so others can come play too. And if you’re looking for a place to publish your work, check out our sister site, Amusing Responses. We accept responses to writing prompts from all around the platform. All we ask is that you link back to the original post and tag the prompt creator. Also please use one of the following tags: “Fiction”, “Poetry”, or “Creative Nonfiction”. That way your work will end up in the right category.
I am so happy to be bringing in the New Year AND celebrating our first anniversary together. I’m very excited to see where we all end up going in this new year. Have fun, my friends. Happy New Year!
Until next time, Happy Writing!!!
