Weekly Prompts August 1–7, 2022
Your weekly dose of writing prompts
Hello, again, my lovelies. Today is going to be a lot of fun. Not only am I shooting out one, but two prompt posts. Just a few minutes ago, the Word-A-Day list for August went live. It was a little strange trying to figure out how to schedule two posts to go live at roughly the same time.
I’m also very happy to announce that I’ll be adding a new addition to our prompts. Every Thursday, I’ll be doing a post called Mid-Week Motivations. I posted the first one a few days ago, but it was a little hurried and still in the experimentation stage. I’ve done a little revamping with it and this week, you’ll have some new ideas to work with.
Because it’s a whole new month, we have some new prompts. As always, I’ve kept Poetic Visions and These Three Things. I’ve also kept the dialogue prompts in Say What? I’ve seen several pieces come from that category.
I’ve brought back a couple of categories from the past. I’m adding Monster Myths again and one called Do You Remember, which used to be From the Memory Books. But you know me, I couldn’t leave well enough alone. Here’s a rundown of the five new categories.
Interview How good are you at doing an interview? What if you had to interview someone from history or a fictional character? Well now’s your chance. Let’s see what you think these individuals have to say.
What’s the Answer? Because my mind wanders off in so many different directions, you never know what type of questions I’ll come up with. Truth is, I’m not even sure. But, whatever questions I come up with, I can’t wait to see what your answers will be.
Critic’s Corner Do you like to write reviews? It’s harder than you might think. Especially when I’m the one suggesting the topic to be reviewed. Good luck.
3 Characters Much like These Three Things, I’d like to see you create a story with these three characters added in. They can be main characters or just someone in the crowd. It’s all up to you.
A Whole New World In honor of my sci-fi lovers, I’ve come up with a little something different. Think of me as mission control and you’ve just been told to land on an unknown planet. It’s your job to tell us about that planet and anything, or anyone, you might find there.
Okay, kids, there you go. Your weekly dose of writing prompts for the first week of August. I hope you get inspired and your muse can’t slow down. Have fun.

I’m excited to see where this month’s categories will take you. I love giving you new ideas to write about, but I’m such a sentimental old fool, I have to keep a few of the favorites. However, it’s what you all do with these prompts that makes my job so much easier. Thank you all.
Have fun and get creative. Remember that all prompts found on Enticing the Muse can be used in any way you see fit. I am so proud of each and every one of you. Keep it up.
Until next time, Happy Writing!!!
