Abstract

The text presents a scenario where individuals are rallying against the oppressive control of corporations over society. “The time has come for us to stand up and fight.”

Everyone looked around, no one seemed interested.

“It’s our only option.”

The corporations have a stranglehold on everything, life has become hard and desolate for everyone but a small few. Those without connections we forced to live in squalor, with no hope for the future.

“How do you propose we do that? The corporations have the entire military at their disposal.”

“We have to make them eat their own tail.”

“What does that mean?”

The mood in the room was tense, no one wanted to hear what he had to say.

“When I was a kid we went to a nature preserve. They had all kinds of animals, alive and dead. There was a jar with a snake inside. It died from eating its own tail.”

“How does that help us?”

“The corporations are too big and well protected, the only way to bring them down is to make them eat their own tail.”

“We still don’t know what that means.”

Everyone in the room was getting more annoyed by this conversation. Any past attempts to take down the corporations were struck down before they even started. Anyone who attempted to oppose them was executed on the spot.

“Their greed is surpassed only by their egos. If we get them fighting and competing with each other their greed will tear them apart.” No one know what this meant, but it was the best idea they had heard so far.

“It will require us to work together.”

The corporations had divided all aspects of life and had mutual agreements not to interfere with each other’s businesses.

“We have to get the poor and working-class to work together to pit the corporations against each other.”

“That sounds good, but how do we do it?”

They knew if they protested or made a scene they would all be killed. They needed to sow the seed of dissent from within.

“We have to unite the working class with us and convince them to begin the revolution. By talking to their bosses, they can convince them they can do better than the other corporations and therefore should take over their market share. The corporate executives have to think it’s their idea. Which won’t be hard because they’re all egotistical megalomaniacs.”

The mood in the room began to shift, everyone we so busy trying to survive all they thought about was themselves and their families. If they were able to work together, towards a common goal, they would have the power to take down the corporations and wealthy elite who own the country.

“It’s time for us to work together, towards a common goal, freedom.”
