We Don’t Mean 70% of the Sh*t We Say To Ourselves

It’s time we become someone we take seriously.

I’ve come to realize that I don’t trust myself, and I’m writing this article mainly because I need to hear it, but perhaps it may resonate with you as well:

We care more about pleasing others than ourselves because we think others are more worthy of being pleased.

We fail time and time again to take ourselves seriously, to commit to a goal and keep at it despite adversary, to walk into the unknown without trying to… know everything.

We fail time and time again to keep our own word, a word that should be most precious to our inner being, a word that lights our soul on fire.

We fail time and time again to keep the pacts we make with ourselves. Though we believe we can do it in some way, some shape, some form, we secretly doubt we can do it.

But we would never admit it, we have too much pride.

Deep down we don’t think we can do it. You won’t “surprise” yourself by actually pulling it off despite this doubt. You have to rid yourself of 90% of this disbelief in order to succeed.

I say 90% because there will always be doubt, no matter what you do. Pursuing anything without knowing what the results will be will stir up some form of doubt, but your belief in yourself should make that doubt so minuscule and trivial in comparison.

We haven’t learned to trust ourselves. We don’t truly mean what we say because we’ve failed to do what we said we would do, over and over and over again.

You may think you trust yourself, but you don’t; that’s why you don’t get anything done that you say you will get done. You may think you believe in yourself, but you don’t; that’s why you hold back and fail to follow through. Until you become a person worth believing, worth trusting, you will always look for that push from others.

You will always look for their approval, their hope, their faith, their support, their words.

What about you?

They don’t care about you. They don’t care about your goals. Stop telling them.

Don’t you care about you? Don’t you care about your goals? Don’t you want to show yourself?

Start committing to your words through action.

Start meaning what you say.

Start small, start anywhere.

Start now by doing whatever it is you say that you are going to do.

Stop putting things off until a “tomorrow” that may never come. The more and more you can train yourself to complete the action, to complete that task when you say you will complete it, the more and more you will start to trust yourself.

The more you grow this muscle, the more you achieve, your confidence will skyrocket. You’ll become a force to be reckoned with.

Kick life where it hurts. Lately, it’s been kicking you.

It hurts, doesn’t it?

If it hurts to know that whatever you say, you know deep down you probably won’t do it. If it hurts to know that you can’t keep your own word, that you can’t fully commit, that you can’t fully and wholeheartedly trust and believe in yourself, why do you continue to do it?

Why do you continue to lie to yourself, to lie to others, to lie to the universe?

For anyone who needs to hear this:

Rebuild that trust in yourself. If you never had it, then start building.

The more faith we have in our ability, our capability, the more we can put our head down and do the work and prove to ourselves over and over again that we can accomplish that in which we set out to accomplish, then we’ve won.

There’s no force more unstoppable than a human in pursuit of a goal who has the utmost confidence and trust that they will achieve that goal.

We don’t mean 70% of what we say. Good intentions and trust issues can’t coincide.

Your “intentions” are as useless as your words, as useless as your inaction, as useless as your doubt.

Stop hurting yourself. Stop being useless. Stop lying to yourself. Stop doubting yourself. Stop it all.

Don’t you want to become someone you believe in? Don’t you want to become a force to be reckoned with?

Why not start today?
