We Could Be Getting a PS5 Slim Very Soon

The slim version of the PlayStation 5 could be released very soon.

Now, let’s dive into the skinny PlayStations — and guess what? A slimmer PS5 might just be around the corner, and I’m gonna talk about that here.

What is the “slim” version of PlayStation consoles?

Sony, the company behind these awesome gaming consoles, has previously made what they call the “slim” version of their consoles.

Now, you might be wondering, what’s so “slim” about it? Is it on a diet? Nah, not quite. The “slim” version is basically a sleeker, more compact version of the original PlayStation console. Think of it like a fancy car getting a cool makeover — the same power, just in a smaller and more stylish package.

The whole idea behind the slim version is to make the console more portable and space-friendly. So, if you’re tight on space or you want to take your gaming adventures on the go (maybe to a friend’s house or a gaming event), the slim version is like your trusty sidekick. It’s easier to carry around and won’t take up as much room in your entertainment center.

Now, you might be wondering if there’s any catch. Well, here’s the scoop: the slim version usually retains most of the features and performance of the original PlayStation console.

And what does their footage reveal? The upcoming console is being held nonchalantly in a single hand, a feat that’d be as rare as a unicorn sighting with the standard beefy PS5.

Speaking of looks, this pint-sized powerhouse is bringing its own style game to the table. Most eye-catching is the pronounced crease right down the middle, neatly dividing the console into two halves.

My best guess? It’s probably the much-speculated detachable disk drive. And oh, let’s not forget the cherry on top — a fresh USB-C port gracing the front, a handy bonus over the run-of-the-mill PS5.

Now, before you go wild with fantasies of souped-up hardware, let’s reel it in a bit. Given the shrinkage factor, significant hardware upgrades might just be a distant dream. But hey, who knows? Maybe a PS5 Pro will swoop in later to steal the show.

As for the grand unveiling of the PS5 Slim, it’s the classic case of “neither confirmed nor denied.” But if this leak is the real McCoy, a debut might just be looming on the horizon — we’re talking as early as this year.

Oh, and here’s an interesting tidbit: Sony’s been busy offloading its PS5 inventory recently. Could this be a sign that they’re making room for the sleek new model? Oh, and don’t think Microsoft is sitting this one out — they’re primed to drop their own version of a PlayStation Slim this year.

Final Words

Now, if my gut’s right, the PS5 Slim could very well shove its chunkier ancestor off center stage and become the reigning standard console.

But here’s the catch — if you’re already riding the PS5 wave, this trimmer version might not be quite the head-turner to warrant a wallet-busting upgrade.
