This is a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. You can check out Chapter 1 of this story: The Burned Village. Check the previous chapter: ‘Battling the Orc Chieftain’ by JF Danskin.

The orc boss has slowed. With wounds and arrows to his back and legs, he is reeling.

“You can’t win,” he slurs, then casts a healing spell.

“Watch me,” you reply. Summoning up all your might, all your rage and frustration at the harm done to your people, you swing.

Your sword sings through the air, and you lop his head clean off.

Time stills.

Then the remaining orc minions begin to flee. Goblins are helping villagers to chase them down. Dara Blackfeather stands in the centre of the burning barricades, shooting orc after orc.

Then she approaches. “It’s over.”
