You walk on, determined. Nothing is going to stop you, while you have energy in your veins and arms to lift a sword.
It’s getting windy, and the trees sway. There’s a distant eerie howling. Wolves? Orcs? Uncertain. But with a suit of armor and a sword, you don’t feel afraid. Well… not very afraid.
It’s now really dark. “Come on,” you tell yourself. “Keep going.”
But you gradually realize that you can no longer locate the forest’s edge. You could be walking in circles.
Shattered, disconsolate, exhausted, you lean back against a large oak tree, and close your eyes.
