FICTION | DRABBLE WRITING PROMPT | RANDOM WORD

Unbelievable View, Unbeatable Price, But an Unsettling Truth

The view came at an unreasonable price

Random Word Drabble Challenge Day 78 Word Is Condo.

Woman’s hand turning the doorknob — Created by the author with Bing AI image creator.

A drabble is exactly 100 words, no more, no less. Since drabbles are so short, please remain on the page for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight something that interests you, and clap up to 50x if you liked it.

Rumored to be haunted, the condo held an allure Sarah couldn’t resist.

The amenities were modern and luxurious. The price? Unbeatable.

She scoffed at the warnings. A friend insisted she spend the night there before signing the contract, and the agent obliged.

The view was breathtaking, and a cool breeze whispered through the open balcony doors. Had the doors been open? She couldn’t recall.

Alone, readying for bed, the lights flickered. Voices, laughter, and footsteps echoed in the hallway outside the bedroom.

She trembled in fear — the doorknob wouldn’t turn. Trapped, Sarah realized the condo’s allure masked a chilling truth.

For this drabble, the random word to build the story around is “condo.”

Thanks to Nancy Oglesby and Fiction Shorts for the daily challenge.
