Top 5 Articles And Authors Of Illumination

Showing the top articles published in Illumination to date

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Hello everyone,

this article will showcase and introduce the top 5 articles and their authors that have been published on Illumination since its opening as of today (May 2020)

You will know which article fared how well. However, as I consider the earnings a private matter, I will not disclose them here. If the authors themselves would like to share these numbers, they are free to do so. But it’s not my right to make it public. I’m only showing the stats in terms of view, reads, and fans as shown on the editorial dashboard.

This article is meant to gratulate them on this incredible success, give them the recognition they deserve (we all know impostor syndrome), and motivate them to keep on going. For the rest of us, maybe we can learn something from them.

Should any of the authors perceive this recognition as unwanted, please let me know and I will remove your stats from this article. I just think the recognition could help you in gaining further recognition and help others to learn from you.

Sorting by reads, we still have the same 5 articles, they just switch their positions. But all of them are at the top. If we sort by amount of fans, then the bottom three articles are replaced by different ones.

Whether these writers want to attribute their success to a streak of luck is up to them. But it’s undeniable that they are among our best writers and I am deeply inspired by their writing style and choice of topics.

It also taught me something about my own stats. I stopped caring about whether I get ‘fans’ who actively engage with my content or not. Even the top article has only gained 498 fans with over 12K reads. Only 4.15% of all readers have actively engaged with her article, yet I consider it a major success and am honestly a little envious.

It also showed me that writing success on Medium is indeed possible. If you stay persistent and keep on writing, people will notice you. Then it all just needs a little luck and you’ll go viral.

So to all our fellow writers. I’m as far away from these stats as you are. But if we keep on writing and deliver interesting articles, then I’m sure we all will share this success in the future.

Until then, all the best to you.

Final disclaimer: I wrote this article on my own to give our writers a motivational boost and to let our top writers know that they indeed are at the top, for they might not even know. No one else asked me to do it, so if sharing these stats was a mistake, the blame falls on me alone, not our pub. I just hope I did not overstep any boundaries in doing so. If I did, apologies. Let me know and I will remove any content you don’t like to make public ASAP.

With kind regards, Kevin
