To Write This There Is Only So Much I could Consciously Intend. The Rest Started Flowing Through
Allow thoughts to flow through without judging
Here are the three things I did before I logged into my Laptop:
- I wrote in my SMD (Start May Day) List
“Please Write and Publish One article before 8 AM” ( LOL Yes! I prefix with a compassionate “Please “)
2. I did Deepak Chopra’s “Chakra Meditation” Part 2.
3. Stopped me from doing an easy and comfortable task of recording a Podcast Episode, that I do at this time
Having typed the above, I am now “allowing’ the content to flow through. I started off April 2023 by testing my progressive learning by participating in the following writing challenge, by Ann Venkataraman:
This is what I wrote in response to the prompt in the following article:
I Never Knew Whom I Was Writing For Until I Wrote This Piece
Ask and Dig Deeper to Answer
medium.com
Whom do you write for? Not just why…
That person who values life, not in general but as a gift from his/her parents
That person who wants to consciously integrate his/her Body, Emotions, and Mind(BEM)
That person who values his/her Self-Talk and consciously gets better by using some tools like Affirmations, Chanting, Journaling, and mindfulness meditation.
That person who wants to consider/try moving from a “Fixed Mindset” to a “Growth Mindset”.
That person who builds upon her/his “Self-Awareness” Muscle while moving through major life transformations like Single to Married to parent to Empty nester OR from an employee to Self-Employed.
To that person who values gratitude, compassion, love, forgiveness, Spirituality, grit, honesty, and fairness.
I am sure you might be either saying:
Oh! That is me OR Nope…
That is fine! Nevertheless I value the time and attention you are giving to read this current piece of writing.
I completed writing for 7 Days as against, the 21st day today. Yay! Now my creative mind is prompting me to just pick a random prompt from this challenge. I am choosing Day 17.
Day 17: Your Favorite TED Talk?
My Favorite Ted Talk:
Master your Mindset, Overcome Self-Deception, Change your Life by Shadé Zahrai
What made me even click and watch?
I bumped into Shadé Zahrai’s Youtube Shorts (YS) and got addicted to it. As a discipline would have it, I would watch empowering three to four YS in the night before I retire to bed. When I read the title of the above Ted Talk, for a person who values BEM ( Body, Emotions, and Mind) integration, it was a no-brainer just click and watch the entire video, paying no attention to any distraction whatsoever.
What did I like the best?
She has helped me in realizing that I have an Inner Deceiver within me. How does the Inner Deceiver show up and limit my ability to change OR get out of my comfort zone? In the following ways:
The classic judge-Judges you and blames yourself for things outside your control, and prevents you to learn from failure.
The victimizer-Fills the mind with excuses and decreases willpower.
The misguided protector tries to protect you from failures by keeping you paralyzed.
The ringmaster- Creates a Treadmill of achievement addiction, which never brings satisfaction, and creates productivity guilt in your mind.
She has not only identified these inner deceivers but has suggested ways to conquer them as under:
Classic Judge: By becoming aware and choosing not to listen and redirect your attention to what you can control.
The victimizer: Take responsibility for things within your control.
The misguided protector: Make the process a goal.
The ringmaster: Remind yourself of your qualities and the value you add to the life of others.
The Busy Neglector: Don’t allow outer opinions to affect how you feel and how you act.
Thank you RobertCutrera for an coming up with an interesting perspective to handle thoughts and feelings while coping with allergies and writing here:
Yay! It is 8.01 am, I enjoyed the process and choosing to enjoy every moment of my day and you too have a fantastic day !
