Tiger Woods, The GOAT, and The Game Changer, Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame

Tiger Woods, 46 years old, has continued to make history for all the years of his golf life whose parent’s guidance was his guiding force. Recently in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Woods now stands among the best as he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, this induction recognized his life of tenacity where he earned 82 victories on the PGA Tour, and 15 majors.
His backbone was comprised of supportive parents who guided his golf life from an early age playing the junior circuit in California. They believed in his effort so much that they took out a second mortgage for him to play golf.
His hard work and tenacity paid off as he was the headliner in an induction class that included retired PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem, three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Susie Maxwell Berning, and the late Marion Hollis, a visionary who became the first woman to develop prominent golf courses.
Patrick Cantlay, an American professional golfer who has a successful amateur career as the number one golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 55 weeks, won six times on the PGA Tour as well as the 2021 FedEx Cup, summed up the credentials, contributions, and accomplishments of Tiger Woods, “I think every pro out here owes a debt of gratitude to Tiger because this sport wouldn’t be where it is today without his impact.”
Accolades and recognition are worth their weight in gold, Woods was the first Black and Asian golfer to win a major at the 1997 Masters at the age of 21 in the face of discrimination at a young age, not being allowed in the clubhouse like the other junior golfers.
Woods’s journey as a consummate golfer was introduced to the world with an appearance on the Mike Douglas Show as a two-year-old prodigy, who went on to win three straight U.S. Junior Amateur titles, and one of this earliest defining moments, on the island green on the par-3 17th hole at the TPC Sawgrass in the 1994 U.S. Amateur when he first delivered the uppercut.
Moving forward other moments that defined him further was when Woods acquired four full years as a pro, inclusive of the Grand Slam and 24 victories on the PGA Tour. His first major was the 1997 masters’ victory at the age of 12. By 30, he had 46 wins on tour and 10 majors never accomplished by anyone.
Today as he stands tall with many renowned accomplishments, Woods’ record includes a record-typing 82 wins on the PGA Tour, 15 majors, three behind the gold standard set by Jack Nicklaus.

Over his successful career, Woods was unstoppable as he endured a broken leg, multiple back surgeries and continued to play and won major wins. If this doesn’t make him the perfect role model in general, nothing will do. From a young age to today, he has always remained a cconsummateathletic role model for all.
During the induction ceremony where he was introduced by his daughter, Sam, he shared stories of his past leading up to this very moment from his upbringing, difficult practice sessions with his father, winning quarters on the putting greens as a child competing with adults, being denied access to certain courses and clubhouses in his early years, and his parents’ faith in his ability.
Tiger Woods’s most recent car accident last year where he has had numerous surgeries to save his right leg has delayed his return to the golf course as it has his future somewhat hanging in the balance. He yet struggles to walk as golfing involves a lot of walking. He shared that a week on the golf course would be tough and a golf tour is unthinkable right now.
