The World Needs More Pretty Pink Pigs

November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Collecting Smiles”

Pretty pink pigs, ready to party.

I’m one of those people who like one holiday to end before I think about the next.

It’s Thanksgiving Day in the United States.

It’s an unusual one for me. I’m not spending it with my family, but instead traveling to see other family in Wales. I was last there in November of 2019, pre-COVID.

A friend insisted on taking me to the airport, about an hour from my home. Her daughter and her family are sick, so she said she was happy to have something to do.

On the way to the airport, we found a restaurant open for an early Thanksgiving Day lunch.

I walked in they said “Do you have reservations?”

“No, do I need them?”

“No.”

We were early enough it didn’t matter.

We feasted on turkey and all the trimmings. It was a delicious meal. We were full in no time, with my friend taking a carryout box for her leftovers.

As we drove away we saw these cute pink pigs.

One holiday over, on to the next. They made me smile. The first “official” smile I am collecting of the Christmas season.

I’m glad we didn’t order ham.

Thanks to Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles for this November prompt Collecting Smiles.

And here are a couple more smiles for you to collect.
